Stressed out, but excited!  We fly out today for our trip and I'm leaving work early.

I still have the last bit of packing to do (groan).  But I made a list last night for what is left, so it shouldn't take long.  And I inherited being a worry wart from my mom.  I think of all the things that can go wrong.

My sister and I used to always complain to our mom that she wanted to get to the airport 2 hours early.  "But mommm, they say you only have to be there an hour early."

Now as an adult, "What if the cab breaks down on the way there?  What if the security line is long?  What if they pull me or my H out for a longer search?"  "What if a crazy traffic incident happens and the freeway is backed up for miles?"

So we're leaving around 3:30 for our 5:50pm flight, lol.  Even though we're only about 30 minutes from the airport.

I also have a lot I want to finish up at work.  I had definitely planned to be a lot further along in my backlog.  But, oh well.  Today will be "priority" items only being finished.  I think that's doable.

Edited:  Ooohh!  And last night, I finally booked a reservation for our one "specialty dining meal".  Cruise ships have lots of free food.  But nowadays, most of them also have higher end restaurants that are not free.  But my cruise package came with a free meal for 2 at one of them (our choice).

@CharmedPam, my H narrowed it down to a Mexican restaurant (that wasn't on our cruise) or that Teppanyaki Japanese grill that we went to.  I usually like to try new restaurants, but I loved Teppanyaki.  So that is what we booked for the second day, which is a sea day.

  • So glad it's finally cooled off! I once again sat in the worst traffic this morning. 55 minutes to go 20 miles. So, now I'm exhausted and really just want to take a nap.

  • @short+sassy when my H and I did our big Mediterranean cruise a few years ago there were upgraded restaurants (out of pocket $) but almost all of them had a lunch menu that was included in the cruise price! Maybe some of yours are like that too - although i'm sure part of why they can do that is most people get off the boat all day. Something to check though!

That does sound awesome!  But I already know it's not like that on Norwegian.  Those restaurants aren't even open for lunch.

They even close all the main dining rooms for lunch on port days.  Though they are open for lunch on sea days.
