Wedding Woes

Monday

IT issues may be the death of me this week. 3 full work days, off Th for an appointment for G and taking the boys to the children's museum afterward, company golf tournament on Friday. So feels like a nice short week.

Weekend was busy but great!

Re: Monday

  • Had some necessary down time this weekend.

BK decided that she wants to be independent lol she's been playing upstairs a lot so when bringing stuff down, her and I agreed that the Gabby's dollhouse and the Bluey house will be in living room but rest is upstairs.
I also split up her toys so it's appropriate with houses.

I told BK that we're going to slowly start sorting her toys. I did stash away some stuff I don't think she plays with - I usually hide it and a few weeks later I'll put into donation bag.

Perk of BK playing upstairs? M's playing Starfield, so I got through 3 chapters of my book!
    It's very exciting lol

Schools are closed in observance of Yom Kippur, the kids and I just got in from the children’s museum. Time to make some calls regarding the clusterf**k that has become their health insurance. Stbxh lost yet another job in June and the kids’ benefits went with it. Thankfully I’ve always had good Union insurance, but for some reason since early July nothing or very little is being covered with the reason that there’s another insurance and a conflict of benefits.  But they don’t have another insurance? Each visit to the ped or a specialist has resulted in some insanely large bill. My insurance told me I had to send a letter stating that my insurance is their only one, did that last month, I called back and was told that I also needed an official letter from stbxh’s confirming so I’ll do that now 😫 but we never had a conflict of benefits when we both had insurance so it’s weird to me that it’s started when they went down to only one.

It’s been raining since Friday night.  The basement hasn’t flooded but looking forward to sun.

I LOATHE insurance companies.  DH's has periodically asked him to prove that our biological kids are his kids....the same ones that have been on the SAME INSURANCE policy  SINCE THEIR BIRTH.

I'm currently in a battle with my old one and Quest.  My bloodwork from my physical LAST YEAR hasn't been approved yet and I refuse to pay for it OOP.  The latest is that it was coded wrong.  The physician's office who runs and orders bloodwork all the time coded it wrong?  Oh ok...sure.

I think I need to start building an ark and looking for two of every animal.  I know that rain is needed but this is nuts.

NFL tiktok put "Taylor was here 9/24/23" on their bio lmao
  • @banana468 swing by and get us when your ark sails south (though no I'm not bringing a male and female cricket from my basement lol).  OMG I'm dealing with Quest lab too!  It's for my blood work from my physical this past June...confirmed with my dr's office who has stated 3x that there isn't an error on their end...ugh!

Same same same. I want this to last forever
  • I honestly thought KC was cooler than this, but my feed was full of people all over the city taking pics.  Just stop, leave them alone.  His mom didn't look too impressed with her, but I couldn't decide if I was reading into it or not.  Also, WTF was his outfit?

This weekend was good.  Got my space more cleaned up, actually meal planned and grocery shopped, and rested quite a bit.  I didn't watch the Japanese Grand Prix except for bits and pieces. Went to a soccer game with some friends, so did get out and socialize.  Going to see Mulholland Drive with a friend tonight, who loves David Lynch.  The theatre has wine and I will be indulging b/c I do NOT love David Lynch and will have to battle off sleep.
  • Ugh, it started raining Friday night and has not stopped. And more rain tomorrow.

Had a good weekend. Got a lot done inside since there was nothing else to do.
  • I'm here.  I've been reading spreadsheets all day and I think my eyes are going to fall out of my head.  Ugh.  I think I'm done though for now...unless I need to provide more research (please 6lb baby jesus, don't make me).

Weekend was good.  We had a great time at the ball game with my family on Saturday.  Everyone played nice with dad's GF.  She engaged all of us and I think the ones who need to warm up to are coming around.

I know you guys are getting soaked with rain and it sucks, but we're dying for some over here.  We haven't had any significant rain in a couple of months...which leads to the big cloud that was hanging over the weekend: water issues.  We have very low water pressure and our filter has been getting really dirty quickly over the last month or so.  We have someone coming out to look at our well tomorrow.  This could be a $$ issue or a $$$$$ issue.  We have no idea.  Fingers crossed it's on the low end, but we're prepared for anything.

We watched football all day yesterday.  Seeing TayTay was fun, but beating the snot out of DH because I have Mostert and Allen is even better.  I kept giggling every time the Dolphins scored.  I'm also obsessed with memes about that game because they are so damn funny.

Work is going to be weird and stressful for a bit, but overall SSDD.
  • @mrsconn23 I'm sorry for your water issues.  We have a well and if we started to have a dry summer it would suck.

Out here it's been SO wet.  It started in the summer with the huge rain storms that started and VT made headlines.  It was so bad that the floods hit the CT river and full on docks were just swept down the river with legit dock boxes floating in LI Sound.   Today it's "flood warning" zones if you're down by the water but for us it's just annoying.  Add the EEE threat and I'll be happy when this is over because the mosquito concern in the early evening is no joke.

In a year where we own a boat I'm annoyed at how much we spent to use so little.  Obviously this year was also its own other layer of issues but the weather didn't help it.
  • @banana468, we also are sad at how little we used our boat this year. It’s so frustrating. I feel your pain.
  • Pretty low key weekend. I did a lot of reading on the porch and worked on knitting pumpkins. I did get all the fall decor up on Saturday. I cleaned out the guest closet where I store seasonal pillows. I have a throw pillow problem for sure! Yes, @mrsconn23 we need rain so badly!!! I need to split some plants in the flower beds but don't want to do it while they are so stressed and dry.
