Wedding Woes

Friday

I so rarely do mystery shopping anymore.  But picked up two fast food lunch shops near my house.  I'm going to knock those out on the way home from work.

I also have fun stuff planned for tonight.  My friend is having an outside movie night!  We are going to watch the Grand Budapest Hotel.  I have never seen this movie but have heard it is excellent.  Popcorn and candy provided, because she's awesome!  It's even the movie theater style "boxed" candy, lol.

Hmmm...let's see.  Burgers and tator tots for lunch.  Popcorn and candy for dinner.  I will officially be blowing my diet out of the water today!  Lol.  But that's okay, it's been almost two weeks since I had a "splurge" day.

  • Sounds fun! I too, have never seen or heard of that movie!
I had a BLAST at witches night out last night. The event was so much fun and at a castle like banquet hall with the perfect setting.  Exactly the Halloween scenery I needed to start the holiday! Food was good. They had pierogies too, which are my fave.  And the sweets table! Perfection!
I went with the dress from Torrid because it was more costume-y.  I’m glad I did.  I fit right in.  They played reverse musical chairs- where the men working the event danced around the ladies in a circle of chairs. When the music stopped, they sat on your lap and you were out. I got a lap dance.  But it was for charity…. So a charitable lap dance.  I ended up being third last out. I hate the limelight and just wanted to be out from the getgo. Lol.

  • @CharmedPam that sounds like a blast!

@short+sassy have fun at your movie night!

My parents are visiting today but just told me they wont be here until 7 or after - which is perfectly at bedtime so it will be a clusterF. Not mad at them, just different bc they usually arrive around 5 30 so we can all eat dinner together and i wasn't expecting it! Sports class tomorrow then out to breakfast or the farmers market, probably lots of playing outside. Our nephew (and godson!) is getting baptized on Sunday so we'll all go to that. Boys are off school Monday so mom and dad are babysitting!

Have to do a kohl's pickup, library/grocery/target runs today. Dad's bday was wednesday and the boys want to make him a treat so i'll make brownies or something too :)

I slept funny and can hardly turn my head. I had an intake appt with a new chiropractor on Wed and my first adjustment is this coming wed and I am VERY excited about it. Tylenol and yoga won't fix this one i don't think.

VERY excited also that its' FINALLY sweater weather. I'm wearing a puffy vest inside and sweatpants and i'm loving it. Hope the 80s/90s are officially gone.
  • We’re potty training this weekend, wish us luck.

My VPN won’t connect to your network so I’ve been basically been trying to connect all morning with zero luck. I actually have a lot to get done so this is obnoxious.

The pipe that randomly leaked on a night in late May, randomly leaked last night at 2 am.  So, I'm WFH waiting for the maintenance men to come and look at it again.  I'm kind of annoyed that they haven't been here yet, what if it was still dripping?!  Anyway, whatever "repair" was done last time was obviously nothing and I want to talk to them.  I've never had a bad experience with my management company, so this is a little concerning to me.

The viewing last night of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari was so amazing.  I didn't realize that it was actually a live band!!  So, if you ever have the chance ot see the Invincible Czars do a movie (they have soundtracks to 4 classic horror films and are on a big tour right now), do it!!  I ended up buying merch I didn't need b/c I had such a good time.  I also told the band why I was there seeing the movie and they seemed genuinely touched.  The first time I ever saw this movie was in a theatre class with the professor who would become a mentor in my life.  He has recently passed, so I was basically going to remember him and drink a Manhattan in his honor and just feel close to the memory again.  The movie being what it was, was truly a wonderful experience and the Professor would've adored it.  I thanked them for adding to a precious memory.  I so enjoyed myself I seriously considered staying for the following movie with them, Nosferatu, but I knew there was no way I could stay up that late and function today.  It didn't start until 9:30!

Tonight is First Friday and since the weather is so great, a good friend and I are going to go and walk around.  We both live in the middle of the event and she's never gone, so I'm looking forward to it.  I used to go every month and you can get kind of jaded, even with the new art.  I think I'm going to go for a walk tomorrow and drop off some stuff with a friend.  Sunday is taking care of some stuff with Mom.

I hope everyone has a good weekend with lovely weather.

ETA:  I had the band name wrong and corrected it.
  • Back at work and what a morning. H had a really bad panic attack yesterday. He ended up coming home from work this morning (he went in super early) while I was getting ready for work. He’s still debating whether to take a sick day or if he should try to WFH. I told him to take until ten, decompress for a minute, cuddle the kitties, and then decide. I wish I was off to be there for him (and for my kitty) but I can’t call off.

My sweet kitty also had another episode this morning and it was sad and concerning. I called the vet but they can’t see her until Monday. I’m going to call back and see if they have any last minute cancellations for tomorrow. She originally was supposed to go in last Monday but they never actually booked the appointment and when I called to confirm they told me I’d be waiting if I did want to come in and it would be a double booking. I’d already treated her for the thing we thought she had and she was doing great without any symptoms so we canceled the appointment and they said just to call back if something changed. So I kind of feel like they should fit me in tomorrow tbh.

Otherwise we’re supposed to go to my grandparents tomorrow to visit and there’s the Halloween movie night that has been it’s own drama on Sunday.

    The event sounded fun! @CharmedPam

You’re  going to like the movie! @short+sassy

I hope you get the IT issues worked out @charlotte989875. Our EHR was down this morning and people were very unhappy about it.

I hope the leak is minor @varunaTT

  • We went out to dinner last night with friends that are in town for Colts games. They lived here but moved away upon retirement. They kept their season's tickets and come for a week a season. This is the first time we've seen them since the pandemic. We hope to get out to see them sometime in the next year.

I had a breakfast meeting with the Y this morning. It was more of a social thing than anything else but was fun. My gut still isn't feeling 100% but am doing better. I'm on altar guild this weekend so I  have that but not much else going on.  Next Thursday I'm headed to Chicago to see the grandkids.

    Have a great weekend everyone!
  • I'm in trip planning mode today. I should be working, but whatever. Next weekend is our cabin up in the mountains. We picked a long challenging hike that I'm really excited about, and now I have to figure out food. I do not want to have to cook the whole time, but there's not a lot of options to go out. I'm thinking of making up a lasagna or something that we can heat and eat all weekend. Any ideas?

The other one is my sister's 40th in December. She wants to see snow, so we're going to Utah. So we're looking for fun things to do but omg it's expensive.

    Happy almost weekend!
  • What about crockpot chili @MyNameIsNot? I love that as an easy option.
That’s very annoying @varunaTT, hope they get there soon
@ei34 I love that you can say exH now too

  • Oh good! It's raining again!

We have a soccer game tonight, tomorrow and Sunday and Monday I'm taking the day off to do GS stuff with Chiquita.

I am SO TIRED of the rain.

Kiddos did get vaccinated last night for the Flu and Chiquita had her 2nd Guardasil vax.  We're in a waiting zone now to see if she needs a 3rd because immunocompromised need 3 doses but she wasn't diagnosed until she was approaching the need for the 2nd vax.  Oh what a fun time to raise a kid in that gray area.

We have a shelving set that MIL and FIL are "gifting" to us because it came in their new house and they can't use it.  I'm hoping to get it assembled this weekend but we'll see how motivated DH is.
  • @MyNameIsNot

quiche/egg casserole and salad kits are easy prepped meals!
    Lasagna/pasta bake with cut fruit
enchilada bake (layered like lasagna, but tortillas and enchilada fixings)

If you live near and are members of costco they have so many take and bak options that are awesome. chicken pot pie, ravioli lasagna, alfredo, street tacos, gyros, etc.

  • This Friday feels earned this week.  LOL  It's been a long one.

Tonight we're going out to dinner for a friend's bday.  Tomorrow we're going to see a friend's new house/property and hang out for the afternoon.  Sunday is football, per usual.  DH is heading to Boston next week for work.

It's cooled off a lot. I am definitely in the mood for all the comfort foods.  GIVE THEM TO ME!  Hee.
  • I’m so jealous of the cool weather for everyone. It’s back up to 100 here and I’m so over it.

OMG, costco pot pie! @Casadena, you are genius!

If I could eat Costco pot pie every day I totally would. I’d also weight 90000 lbs but the trade off might be worth it.

  • Same! I'm justifying it with the big hike.
