Hi there! So we're doing a combined bachelor/bachelorette party since we have a lot of the same friends and a few are actually married to each other. We thought it would be fun to do a camping trip with everyone and put together a camping themed hangover kit. But I'm curious, since it's already combined and some people will be with their partners already, should we let the bridesmaids or groomsmen that don't have a partner in the wedding party bring their SO? And if so, should we put together a hangover kit for the plus ones as well?

Yes - I absolutely think you need to invite anyone to bring their SO.  The SO may not want to attend but if you're having a co-ed party it's going to be so isolating to come up with a rule like "no ring no bring" (i hate that rule anyway).

What I'd do for the kits is create one per couple so then it's not based on whether or not the SO attends.
  • That's what I was thinking, and we're all friends anyway so it would be nice to have them all there. That's a good idea! I'm making can koozies for everyone so for the couples bag I'll just double up on the those.

Yeah - I'd think that anyone attending as 2 should get two.
  • What a fun idea for a combined bachelorette/bachelor party camping trip! Since some guests will already have their partners there, I don't see any issue with bridesmaids/groomsmen plus ones also attending. Camping is really about bringing friends and loved ones together to enjoy nature. I'd definitely include hangover kits for any plus ones - that way everyone can recover together in coordinated camping style after the celebrations. Just be sure all your wedding party members are onboard first before opening it up fully. With good communication I'm sure you can craft an event everyone can enjoy. Wishing you both the best as you prepare for the big day!
