Prudie Day

How’s everyone? I’m in brain fog mode and just want the weekend.

Re: Prudie Day

  • Good morning.  It's dreary here today.

Pretty much SSDD otherwise.  Just wrapping up before I'm off for over a week.

    Prudie coming shortly.

I slept so well Tuesday night (along with everyone else) and yesterday was ugh! Was up half the night. Tuesday Victoria Secret had a 1 hr sale late at night.  10 - 11 Est time. 40% off one item w/free shipping.  I’m on the hunt for a good wireless bra since mine are too big on me now. FB knows I’m looking because I have nothing but wireless bra ads on my feed now.  I want to try skims but I also won’t pay full price. So I got a VS bra for $30! Very happy.  The comments in the ad were saying you can make as many orders as you can in that hour.  Deadly.  But I only bought 1 bra.  Lingerie isn’t my thing and the fragrance bombshell has rave reviews.  I got a small bottle of that (kicking myself because the big bottle was only $10 more lol!) and the bombshell fragrance candle! Woot!

  • Our office is so cold!  They do this every year.  Keep the a/c going until December, smh.

But this morning I finally remembered to "up" my office cardigan game.  I bought a thick and comfy button down shirt, more like a soft jacket, when I was last in Lake Tahoe and brought it to the office.  I've had an office cardigan for years, but it is 100% acrylic.  Okay for an hour here and there, but an uncomfortable fabric to wear all day and I need to be wearing a jacket or substantial sweater at all times until they put the heat on.

I've been very unmotivated to work yesterday and today.  But have a lot to do so need to find a way to get motivated.

  • I can't do VS anymore.  Their underwear just doesn't fit my butt and I refuse to spend money to have my time wearing them spent picking nonstop wedgies.  Plus I'm so small chested I can throw snacks in their bras to save for later.  I do like their jammies sometimes but the fit of their undergarments is not for me.

SSDD down to the predicted rain for Saturday.

A lot of people say VS is overrated. My friend worked for them and would never buy from them.  I agree on the underwear.  I have a few and the non spandex ones are uncomfortable.  I’ve never been able to fit a VS size up till now, and the wireless movement is sweeping the lingerie industry, so I’m hoping the reviews are correct on this one.  First VS bra!

  • VS has always seemed like the kind of place that only makes their clothing to fit one body.  It can be a bigger or smaller body.  But needs to be the same proportion..

  • OMG @charlotte989875.  My boss' mom just pulled that on her last week with a different procedure, but still a surgery.  Her mom's reasoning was that someone told her to keep that kind of stuff to herself since the kids 'just lost their dad' to cancer (he died in April) and she shouldn't 'worry them more'.  My boss was like, "WTF?!  Why are you listening to that person?!"

All the vibes for your mom. And ((hugs)) because the last thing you needed was for your mom to keep something like this from you.
  • Ugh I’m sorry @charlotte989875 that’s so frustrating.

I think I’m the outlier on VS. I like their stuff. My biggest issue is the quality of the underwear has fallen over the last few years. But I do like the sales where I can get 10 for $38 at times.

Yesterday was rough. I had a patient who just breaks my heart every time I see them. And then a bunch of patients who were nice, but big talkers, and one or two in a day is one thing, but when there’s six in a row my introverted self has nothing left. I left work almost two hours later than normal and couldn’t bring myself to exercise so instead I did the opposite and went home and had a glass of wine. Lol. Looking forward to the weekend.

Otherwise SSDD. My schedule is way heavier than the other people who have the same position and it’s just draining when I have literally twice the number of cases when we could all have a more balanced work load. I think it’s because the phone room just goes to me first because I have a name at the top of the alphabet. But Jesus Christ, these days are killing me.

  • @charlotte989875, Oh no!  I'm so sorry to hear that.  Good vibes to your mom that everything goes well. But I don't blame you for being upset with her timing.  Especially since now you and your sister are both worried about her...no getting around that...while also going through shock that this is happening today and being upset for not being given any notice.

  • Ugh @charlotte989875 I'm so sorry.  My mom did something similar when she had her hip replaced and while I knew it was happening it was only because she told MIL (who picked up on things my mom said and knew she had to have booked the surgery if she was talking the way she did) and MIL told DH who told me that it was that day.  My mom told me when she got home 3 days later.

This stuff seems to come from a place where parents don't want to burden us with their stress.  Hugs to you.
  • @charlotte989875 I’m sorry she waited last minute.  FX it all goes well
glad to hear you like it @levioosa.  And wine > workouts all day everyday

  • @levioosa, your comment about being at the top of the phone chart reminded me of politics.  A guy I knew in college was elected to his City Council.  All he did was put his name in the running.  No advertising.  But his last name started with a "B", so he was at the top of the ballot for his position.  I wonder how many of the people who voted for him knew he was some young, idiot frat boy, lol.

I just looked it up to make sure my assumption was not a fluke.  According to an article from NPR, politicians who are at the top of a ballot do get an average of 10% more votes.
