Prudie Day

 Happy Friday Eve, how's everyone?

Re: Prudie Day

  • Love the pics @CharmedPam!! Especially the brownies and little tombstones, yum!
  • Super cute! @CharmedPam

Work is killing me this week. I can’t believe there’s two more days left. I have to go fight with insurance for a prior authorization for a patient and I already know it will be denied because why would they cover something that’s medically necessary?

Otherwise SSDD. I am so looking forward to having sat-Thursday off after work this week. I don’t understand how I went from 3 12 hour shifts to four 10 hour shifts and yet I’m seeing more patients and working more on my days off than ever before. I still worked 12 hours yesterday. No lunch, no breaks, i didn’t even get to drink my water. I was so frustrated when I got home. I’m extra frustrated because I haven’t been able to really work out at all this week. Thirty minute walks can only get me so far and I don’t want to lose progress on my weights.

Otherwise not too much else is happening.

  • Another day, another mass shooting. We’ve had employees need to shelter in place and close our locations. It’s sad we actually know what to do in these situations because we’ve had to do them.

Other than that Bills game tonight leaving early so I can get M and home before traffic gets bad. I doubt I’ll stay awake through the end of the game.
  • @CharmedPam that looks like such a fun party. Love your costume!

Enjoying my last few days of freedom. I've been binging And Just Like That - it's terrible but I'm addicted now.
  • Have a big meeting this afternoon and then trying to take all of tmrw off, half of tmrw off, or at least not work all day Saturday. Fingers crossed!
  • @CharmedPam, the dress looks great on you!  You definitely went all out on the Halloween-themed shots and snacks.  Lots of fun food!

@charlotte989875, I hadn't heard about the mass shooting until your post.  It's awful and tragic!  I'm surprised how many people died.  I hope the gunman is caught soon and I'm sorry this is affecting some of your coworkers.

I spent the morning getting my bloodwork done.  Which also meant I got to sleep in one hour.  I was supposed to get my flu/COVID booster afterwards, but am glad I called ahead first.  I've always gone to Winn Dixie because they give $10 in free groceries for every shot.  But apparently they have either already closed or are going to close all the WD pharmacies.  The one closest to my doctor's office closed in Sept.  The one closest to my house/work is going to close on Nov. 5th.  They normally have flu shots, but are currently out.  And never got the latest COVID booster because of the impending closure.  So annoying I still have this on my to-do list.

I'm hoping they at least get the flu shot in over the next few days.  If not, there's a pharmacy a short walk from my house where I'm going to get my COVID one and would just get the flu shot at the same time.

  • @climbingsingle I started AJLT and...I started to hate them all.  It began to turn very Friends from College for me and I couldn't take it.  I hate all of them and thought they were all terrible people.   I hope it started to improve because it just felt like one turn after another all they'd do is hurt each other or show how completely out of tune and arrogant they were.

That's big for me with tv shows.  If I don't like the characters because they are jerks, then I don't like the show.

Two super popular tv shows I felt that way about were Seinfeld and The Office.  Both shows certainly had comedy moments.  But the characters on Seinfeld were all selfish AHs.  And the characters on The Office were either terrible and/or gross people...though that seemed to be part of the "joke"...or were "okay" people that I just didn't warm up to or care about.

Most people work in an office.  There is a lot to joke about and make fun of.  But the comedy in The Office wasn't related to that, more often than not.
