Prudie Day

How's everyone?  I'm in head-spinning mode, just a lot going on.  I booked Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights tickets for this evening a few months ago, the draw being it's a free members only night, but I think we're going to pass.  How's everyone else?  @climbingsingle how's the new job going?

Re: Prudie Day

  • Good morning!  Glad it's Thursday AND DH comes home today.

Not much else going on otherwise.

    Prudie coming up!
  • I had a fun evening last night, but am paying for it today, lol.  My friend and neighbor had been in LA for two weeks and I went over to her house to catch up with a few glasses of wine.

Apparently I've been living under a rock and missed that the SAG strike was over, for the most part.  She's in the film industry and had her next project waiting for when it was over.  She's excited to be going back to work!  She said that SAG members still have to vote on it.  But it's expected to be a formality.  The unions have given everyone the okay to go back to work, at least through the end of the year on good faith.

My healthy, low-cal eating is about to be in SHAMBLES for the next two weeks.  Not exactly complaining, lol.  I just wish my events were more spread out.
    • I owe this same friend a dinner for watching my pets while I was on my Alaskan cruise.  We are doing that either tomorrow or Mon.
    • Saturday is a Friendsgiving and movie night.
    • Sunday is my 50th birthday and I may not be doing much for it but I AM going to have a GREAT meal.  There's a restaurant in the chapel of a church that was built in the 1800s.  The architecture is stunning and I've heard they have a great brunch.  I've been wanting to go for a long time, so that is the plan.  I also bought a 3-pack of different champagnes from Costco yesterday.  One of those bottles is earmarked for sipping throughout the day.
    • Then we are traveling for 6-7 days, starting next Wed. or Thurs.  Can't get away from fast food for the drive.  A Hot Brown in Louisville and Skyline chili in Cincinnati are "musts".  I'll still mostly avoid carbs and stop eating when I'm full, but I don't like to deprive myself when on vacation and in new places.  Especially when paying for more expensive out-to-eat food.

  • I took a friend to see the Dolly Parton Rockstar listening premiere last night.  It was terribly charming and entertaining.  Dolly seems like such a genuinely sweet person.  Most of the music was pretty good; not necessarily something I'd buy and listen to over and over, but enjoyable nevertheless.

Tonight I'm hitting bed early.  Harley has been so bored the last few days b/c I've been out at night, so I must play with her hard tonight to work off the energy.  She also finally has a cat tree on the way that I'm hoping will entertain her scratching better.  This cat is so spoilt and she knows it.  :)

Otherwise SSDD.  I'm starting to get a bit paranoid at work, but again, I think that's my own head.
  • Dolly ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I preordered the album and loved the songs that dropped pre release.
but I found out never to pre order and just buy the album the day of the release.  There’s times when I turn itunes on, and it only shows me some of the songs that were pre released not the entire album.  And, like not a once in a blue moon occurance.  A LOT of times.
