Prudie Day

How's everyone?
Vibes your way @VarunaTT I just saw your post in yesterday's chat

Re: Prudie Day

  • And with my own personal Prudie- got a call a little while ago from the kids' early morning drop off program teacher.  Oldest DD got into a fight with a fellow a student, a boy in her class who she's had a couple of problems with this year.  He's definitely more of the problem but DD with her bad temper and big feelings moments...I'm just not surprised that they got into this morning.  She and the boy are in the same class and have butt heads a couple times this year, but I don't the bandwith for calls from the school at 7:20am.  I did let her teacher know, so that she can sort of ease into the day need be, but ugghh
  • I have dinner plans with a friend tonight that I'm looking forward to.  Both of our kids have had major issues in the last couple weeks.  Ours is bullying and her daughter's friend group had major issues with a friend who is going through some major mental health problems and blaming the friend group for feeling suicidal.    We need time to talk!

This weekend Chiquita has an audition and then we have a get together with friends for her birthday Saturday night with Sunday her actual 13th.   I'm still on the seat of my pants for it and crossing my fingers all goes well!
  • Not a whole lot new.
All the pants I ordered need to be returned but I might see about exchange for jeans.
I'm annoyed because I was so excited for the red pants but they're too high waisted and I can't handle that :( If it was loose but this is so fitted.

As of the 6th, I'm off for 3 days for surgery then working from home week after.

BK's xmas concert is coming up, and since last year we're pretty sure that's how we got covid - we're masking.
Honestly we should have last year but failed that on our part.

I'm solo in the office today so I've been doing some cleaning up lol
Coworker moved some plants yesterday, but around it was bugging me so I adjusted stuff so it looked better.
  • I'm in a mood.  I've been doing some tracking the last few months and a lot of my really bad depressive, feeling out of my mind, angry issues are happening around the time I'm ovulating (including this flare up).  I start googling.  It simply never occured to me to do a deep dive on my long time diagnosis of PMDD and being in perimenipause.  That is absolutely what is going on.  The methods of dealing with PMDD in the past have been limited, so I guess we'll see what my doctor has to say.  This is pretty disheartening, TBH.

Otherwise, SSDD.  Just working and then hiding at home, b/c I am unfit for other human companionship...or the public, really.
  • Good morning.  I'm so on the "limping along to the end of the year" train.  LOL  I'm half-assing everything.

We have TWO weeks worth of Prudie.  Be ready for all the posts.

SSDD otherwise.  So glad it's Thursday.
  • I have to send out a bunch of meeting requests today, it's literally my only task and will take 15 minutes. So naturally i've read the last few days posts on "ask a manager" and the entirety of Henry Kissingers wikipedia page. Very ready for Christmas vacation.

H's work christmas party is tomorrow, I think we're bowling and then going out for dinner. It's a small group with ppl we like, so should be fun.
  • I torpedoed myself and went to bed ridiculously late (3am).  I wasn't really that tired, but I probably would have gone to sleep fairly quickly if I had forced myself to go to bed sooner.

Definitely dragging today.  Especially since it is my first time back in the office for almost 10 days, lol.  But I like the outfit I'm wearing.  It's cute, flattering, and comfy.  So at least there is that to help get me through the day, lol.

One of the negatives for our trip turned out to be our dog, Izzy.  She obviously doesn't like it when we are gone.  But I could tell from the state of the house that she was EXTRA upset this time.  When we got home late Tuesday night, my H found her sleeping in a giant pile of my clothes.  She had pulled them down from various shelves.  She has never done that before.  She usually loves hanging out on the bed or couch.  If we're out for a few hours, you will find her one of those two places.  It broke my heart a little that she needed to surround herself with my clothes for comfort.

I think one difference is, over the years, we had two different friends who would housesit and take care of her while we were gone.  But we've had a falling out with both of them at different times.

For our Alaska trip, one of my neighbors watched her.  The neighbor didn't stay at our house, but she took Izzy on three walks a day!  At least an hour long for each one.  So Izzy at least had a lot of company, even if she was staying home by herself.  However, that neighbor wasn't available for this trip, so we had a different neighbor take care of her.  I assume he just kept her and the cat watered and fed.  And let Izzy out a few times a day.  Which is fine!  I wasn't expecting him to do more than that.  But I can see now she needs more companionship.

  • Oh, the drama at work today!  I started the day of with a "the world is burning what have we done" kind of email and .... it was nothing.  I researched, looked into what was going on, and just nothing.  So people got all worked up and had me waste half of my day looking into what we did wrong because they felt like giving me a friggin heart attack.
It is warm here, went from -15C to plus 6C.  My rabbits finally ventured outside again after I turned off their heater.
I would love to just turn things off for the rest of the year, do nothing but busywork at work.  Somehow I doubt that will happen.  I bet this is going to be a crazy December.  Can't wait until I have a few days off for Christmas!
