Almost 2024

I hope you all have fun plans for NYE.  Please everyone stay safe!  Lots of drunk drivers on the road.

I've become a scared "old" lady and don't go out on the streets on NYE anymore, so I'll be home.  But I have a nice bottle of champagne ready to put in the fridge for toasting!

I'm off work in 2 hours and really looking forward to another 3-day weekend!  I have been terrible about my sleeping this week and will definitely be catching up on that.  I think that will be my New Year's resolution.  Stop staying up too late and get 8 hours of sleep a night!

Here's to 2024!  I hope it's wonderful year for everyone in the WW fam!  🍾🥂

I like even numbers and even years, so I’m already feeling good things about 2024 💁🏻‍♀️ hoping it’s a year filled with health, joy, and some new adventures for all. 

I doubt I’ll make it past 10pm but I’ll be in my fancy sweats (they’re red lol) and the kids and I made a Trader Joe’s run this morning and grabbed some fun finger foods from the freezer section, love apps for dinner and looking forward to it.

Happy New Year, all! So strange to be saying that already. I have to come to terms that a year has gone by already. Lol.

I’m going out, but to a 7:30 comedy show with a meetup group and probably be back by 10 before the streets get bad.  I usually do the comedy countdown show at 10 but they didn’t want to do it this year.  I’ll definitely be watching times square but I feel like the midwest countdown sucks.  East Coast and West Coast do it up right.

We have nothing planned. We do have some prosecco that we can open. App dinners are my favorite @ei34! I should probably look into getting some things for that.

Ahem.  The South.

Harrah's casino in New Orleans drops a lighted Fleur-de-Lis on top of their roof for the countdown.  There are fireworks over the MS river.  And the French Quarter is completely packed...

...though that's yet another reason I stay home, lol.  I'm less than 2 miles from the FQ and it's usual partying is notched up many levels.

I'd think Chicago does cool stuff also that's televised.

We’re home!! Tired, sore, but home. Taking a nap then picking up M from school so he can finally meet his brother. One quick picture below!

I was in bed at 9:30 last night.  fireworks did wake me up at midnight, so I guess I heralded in the new year with a brief "Huh, what's that - oh it's midnight" and promptly going back to sleep.
