Busy day and I have a "hot" item to take care of.  Waiting for an answer before I can finish it, meh.  But other than that, SSDD.

But my H made me laugh this morning with our grocery list on the fridge.  He wrote on it "fat bread".  It took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about.  I've been cutting way back on all carbs and finally found a lower carb bread that isn't a fortune, but it's still almost twice the price of cheaper brands regular bread.  My household rule is, as long as we have regular bread, my H uses that and saves the low carb bread for me. 

Earlier this week, I had written "low carb bread" on the list.  We are almost out of his bread, so my H called it "fat bread" to distinguish it, lol.

Lol at the distinction @short+sassy My parents always chuckle when my kids call their milk “cow milk” when we’re visiting. We’ve used almond and/or coconut since the youngest were two but they get a kick out of milk that comes from cows. And my parents get a kick out of them having a special name for the more common of the two. 

Pretty ssdd and happy about it.  Toying with dashing to target after work for a few necessities for our ski trip this weekend.

This week is really trying to break me down, LOL.   Work is just ridic and I hate office politics.  Thankfully, it's normally not an issue, but when it is...I always want to lose it a little bit.  

Last night our friend came to dinner and we had a nice visit.  DH left for Chicago this morning.  DefConn doesn't have wrestling tonight, so I'm hoping we can keep it low-key.  I just want to sit on the couch and work on stitching. 

Ohh have fun skiing @ei34.  We would be going skiing this weekend too if we hadn't decided to go to Puerto Rico early next month for our bdays and 20th meetaversary.

Crazy busy at work today and need to get everything done because i'm out with G tomorrow through next Tuesday. Hoping this steroid round is pretty low-key. Other than that not much to report here.

SSDD here too. It's cold but the sun came out at least. I'm going to a friend's bach party this weekend and it seems like everyone is bringing little gifts. I know this group and I know it's going to be a bunch of raunchy stuff. I'm not a sex toy or lingerie gift type of person, so I'm trying to come up with a comfortable alternative. Hopefully I can find something on amazon today; if not I have to go shop in person tomorrow (the horror!)

Nothing else. Hoping the last of this congestion will go the F away before I have to leave. I'm so sick of being gross.

What’s the brand of low carb bread @short+sassy? The only brand I really loved was from trader joe’s but the slices were so small I figured you’d cut any peice of bread in half, it would have 1/2 the carbs?
i hope you get something from amazon @MyNameIsNot.  Brick and mortar shopping doesn’t appeal to me.

my area got hit with 2” last night. It was nothing.  But apparently we get more snow on Friday, so we’ll see what that brings.  I was supposed to visit the family on Friday because it’s a long weekend, but now I guess I go Saturday making it a normal weekend.
I figured the new season of american horror story would be over and I’m a “one shot” person who binges all episodes together but found out because of the writers strike, they split it into 2 parts, and don’t know when part 2 will stream.  Booo. I’m sure there’s something else to watch in the meantime.

Such an unexpected annoyance at work.  There is a weekly meeting I attend that is totally unnecessary.  The same one I complained about on Monday.  The head engineer for this project is supposed to attend it, but never does.

Now the project manager is suddenly "up in arms" about the status of this project and wanted an emergency meeting today to discuss.  I don't think he's invited on the Monday meetings, but am not sure.

Either way, I can't believe I have to go to a second meeting this week that will almost be a repeat of the Monday one.

Ugh work politics is the literal worst @mrsconn23 I also don’t understand people who love the politics. One of my main goals in life is to show up, do my job, lay low and then go home. I don’t want to play games. 

@short+sassy which low carb bread do you use? Is it good or does it taste like cardboard like most of them? lol. 

Speaking of work shenanigans…I am furious. They changed another one of my telehealth slots to in person and added two more slots. I am beyond livid. I am the only person this is happening to. When I went to say something they tried to gaslight me and say it was happening to all of the NPs. Um no it’s not. And I have the same schedule as the other two and the same schedule as one of the doctors. I wish I was closer to August so I could start putting in applications but I don’t want to lose the vested retirement. I just know they’re going to be shocked when I leave too. I’m so angry I can barely see straight. Two more fucking days of this bullshit.

The low carb bread is Sara Lee Delightful.

It has a weird, slightly sweet flavor that doesn't bother me too much, but I wish wasn't there.  I don't think low carb breads taste like cardboard, but if you usually do @levioosa, then this one probably does also because there is definitely nothing high quality or special about it, lol.

But I like that it is $3.44 loaf at Walmart for a low carb bread.  Though oddly, it's only the white bread that is that price.  The wheat and whole wheat that I would probably like better are $1 more.

@CharmedPam, the slices are on the smaller side for bread.  But not crazy small.  They are only a maybe little smaller than my H's "fat bread", aka normal bread.  However my bread is 45 calories/slice and 6 net carbs.  Whereas his bread, which is just Nature's Own wheat, is 70 calories/slice and 9 net carbs.  So there is something they are doing to bring the carb count down and it isn't just the smaller size.

There is just something about bread and rice that are really detrimental to my weight loss efforts, even when I stay within my allotted calories for the day.  I assume it's the carbs.  I don't really care about rice.  But I like sandwiches and toast!

I'm not so sure the low carb bread is safe either.  I only discovered it recently and was only eating it over the holidays, which overall was outside my normal diet.  I'll buy it again later this week and it will be the true test if I can add sandwiches back in to my meal rotations.

I'm really excited.  I bought tickets, along with 2 friends, to a local "mocktail" class tonight.  While that is fun on it's own, they also allow tasting of all of the NA spirits they have.  That can get expensive trying on your own, so I'm looking forward to it.  Plus, my friend N just hit 100 days sober!  Whoot!  We both started on the same day, but I had a harder time sticking to no alcohol.  I'm back up to 26 days though.  This time, it seems a lot easier because I've learned more and there aren't any tempting holidays around.

Harley has also been making a bit irritated.  She has been waking me up at 2 am, announcing she's pooping, trying to get me to play, and generally beng a nuisance for an hour or two.  Then she crashes.  But I want to get up at 5 so I can workout and when she lets me go back to sleep at 3 or 4 am, that's just not doable.  Trying to kind of figure out how to change her schedule to balance this.  I think part of the issue is just acting out from a food change and the fact that I'm not home 24/7 like I was at the end of the year.

I"ve been eating fairly healthy and just had a bit of a carb overload at lunch, so now I'm all sleepy and not-motivated.  This morning, I was upset that it was only Wednesday.

My husband always laughs at the fact that I call it "lettuce salad" instead of just "salad".  But I grew up with bean salad, potato salad, egg salad, tuna salad .... gotta make it clear what I'm talking about!

@CharmedPam I got the same as you for snow, and we are also getting that dumping on Friday.  Should be interesting.  I had no plans, so I'm cool with an indoor weekend, though I did want to feed birds with my nephew and niece on Sunday.  My brother keeps them so busy though, it is so annoying to try to get time with them.  I just found out about the date of the first medieval fair of the season, so I immediately told my brother the date that is six months away  and that I want to take his kids.  And apparently they are already booked that day for soccer.  Grr.
