Unhappy after hair and makeup trial

Hi all, 

I had my hair and makeup trial and after sitting with it awhile I really dislike the final look. It made me look older and unlike myself. I asked for a natural flattering look to make my blue eyes pop but didn’t get that. I already dropped a few hundred on the trial and hate to have to keep doing that for other MUA. Has anyone been in this situation?

If you otherwise like the MUA’s work I would talk to them. Be calm and specific about what you’d like to change and what you’re looking for you didn’t feel you saw. Any professional would take that feedback and make changes.

I didn’t like the overall look and she brought a hairstylist with her and I wasn’t happy with my hair either. Should I pay for a different MUA trial? Trying to find the right one based off their profiles and IG is hard

And this is exactly WHY you have that trial done!  You didn't like how you looked, enough said!  Owning your look is important! 

This trial didn't pull off the look you're wanting.  If you like the MUA enough to do a second trial, go for it, this time, bring in pictures of you when your eyes have been done exquisitely as a "this is what I want instead!"..  Get specific about what you want.  Look up images of hairstyles and choose one that lines up with your specific hair length/type.  Then find a stylist to do that for you.  When it comes to makeup, have you considered doing your own makeup yourself instead of having a MUA?  The thing you need to be cognizant about is stage makeup vs. everyday makeup.  For stage, there are techniques that make things like eye color lip color pop from a distance.  OTOH, it's about the pictures and know that the natural look you'll likely want to reapply to keep it fresh through the day.
