Wedding Woes

Wednesday

How are things going?  I'm extra glad I'm WFH today because it is going to be pouring rain all day.  I woke up two hours early this morning for no reason and now I'm really tired.  It's like even when I stay disciplined and go to bed at a good time, I can't win!

Not much else going on.  Just trudging along.

  • Going to see Pitch Black at the theatre tonight.  I'm so excited about it, I love that movie, such exquistely overacted scifi and VIn Diesel.

Otherwise, not much else going on.  I've started a new morning routine that I feel good about.  I'm kind of ready for the weekend right now.
  • Slow week here because all my peeps I support are away for business.  Which was great yesterday, as I got my grass done during the day.
I was up early too @short+sassy, but because of the damn birds.  Is my fake owl losing its touch? I’ll have to
buy more bird reflectors.  I can’t stand how early they wake me up!

  • Yuck to early wake ups @short+sassy and @CharmedPam. I don't know what is wrong with the birds in IL but I have lived quite a few places and never experienced such loud early bird chirping.

I slept in a bit though and have been spoiled the last week with no middle of the night wake-ups to deal with (i've been sleeping in the guest room on another floor). Mom left this morning and is coming back next week to watch G for a few days before his re-scheduled surgery. His NP recommended we keep him home for those few days to try and avoid delays due to sickness. I'm feeling a ton better today, just kinda tired so i'm back on the bedtime grind with H. It was pretty awesome having no bedtime duty for 9 days.
  • @Casadena, I'm glad you're starting to feel better!

I did remember to take a COVID test last night and it was negative.  I'm going to take it again later tonight, just to make sure.  I have a whole bunch I've gotten for free from various places.  I know the expiration dates got extended, so I was on the FDA website checking.  I threw out about six of them because they were "for real, for real" expired now, lol.

I hope you feel better soon! @short+sassy

Well, the letter "E" fell off my keyboard on my laptop this morning. So that's how today is going. I am sleepy. I had a funky dream and of course it was my last dream of the night so I woke up in a funk. I did get to catch up with BFF this morning which was nice.

Otherwise SSDD. I would say I'm looking forward to the weekend but my mom has sprung something/guilt tripped me about something on Saturday, and then on Sunday we have family brunch where I'll be seeing SIL A for the first time since my birthday. We still haven't talked. Oh well.

It's going to be 87 here tomorrow. Help I'm not ready for summer. But then on Saturday and Sunday it drops 30 degrees and is raining. Spring is unsure here lol.

  • @levioosa, I had a laptop years ago that kept having a key here and there that would be broken off.  I just figured it was a poor quality laptop keyboard and it was getting old.

Then I came into the living room one day and caught my cat Nip sitting on my computer.  She had one claw out and was studiously catching it under the same key and flicking at it.  I was not impressed!  But at least that solved the mystery of what was happening to my keyboard, lol.

You weren't impressed? Or were you very impressed lol.

Squish has this thing for cords. Not a cord in the house is safe. They all get chewed to bits. So we have heavy duty protective coverings or we buy specialty cords for our electronics. It's maddening. Also Jack figured out ages ago how to turn on the oven so we have child protective covers for the oven knobs. We don't  have children and we don't ever have children over at the house but yup, we sure do have child locks on everything.

One of my friends in college had a pet rabbit that she let roam freely in her apartment.  It was litter box trained.  But NO cord was safe!  It could strip one in no time flat.
