Wedding Woes

Fri-YAY!

Looks like we made it!! :)

I had a lovely dinner with my friend L and her son last night.  I made butter chicken and it was so good.

What's on tap for the weekend?

I guess DefConn is going to spend the night with FIL tonight.  FIL called him last night for the first time ever 'just to chat' and was telling him about the minibikes he's fixing up.  DefConn was sooo... adorable about how happy it made him.

I have a wild day/night of laundry and general house pick up while I wait for DH to get home very late tonight.  LOL
I'm not sure about tomorrow.  Sunday is our day at the track.

Have a good one, everyone!

Re: Fri-YAY!

  • I have to pick up prescriptions and a few groceries at Walmart, when I get off work.

Other than that, my main plan for this weekend is to catch up on sleep!  It's been a bad week for that.  I haven't had a night where I got more than 5 hours of sleep for a variety of reasons.  Last night, we had bad storms and my dog was velcroed onto me.  It's hard to sleep when she is upset and like that.

    Nothing very exciting, lol.

  • Um, your wine trip sounds amazing @banana468.   Have fun!

@short+sassy, I feel you on the lack of sleep this week.  I stay up waaayyyy too late when DH isn't home with me because I either lose track of time watching TV, reading, or effing around on my phone or I'm just not tired.

That sounds wonderful @banana468 and I hope sleep finds you his weekend @short+sassy
it’s hard to be running on empty

Weekend isn’t insanely busy but also not light. Really not many more weekends like this though, it’s all kid-end-of-season/year stuff.  I actually only have one more full week of work left til summer, between Memorial Day weekend and some planned sick days and personal days, so I’m playing that on repeat to keep me going.
  • Gym today, tomorrow H has people coming over for a nerdy game that I will not be hanging around for, lol. But I love that for him. I did ask SIL A if she wanted to go to dinner. I'm not over my birthday by any means, but I can see that she's been trying in her own way. She'll never apologize because she doesn't ever apologize. But I'm tired of trying to avoid her (hikes, around town, etc). I have some new boundaries in place, and I'm going to distance myself in other ways, but it was causing me more distress to actively avoid. I still haven't decided if this is rationalizing or not but at least I'm aware that's what I might be doing?

Sunday I'm supposed to see a friend, the only downside is she's two hours away. I have to text her later today to see if we're still on track to meet. The good thing (besides seeing her, of course) is that she lives in an area with literally some of the best food options in the country, so it's always exciting to go somewhere new to eat. I just have to fight for my life with LA traffic to get there.

  • Awww sweet G!  Sounds like a great celebration.  I love seeing pics/vids of people ringing the bell, because it's so amazing and hopeful.
  • Aw yay for G!

Ladies who do Pilates--is it always astronomically expensive for classes? Tik tok has been showing me clips and it looks like the most fantastic work out and I know objectively it has pretty good data but all of the classes around me are like $40-60 a piece.

  • Have the most fabulous time @ILoveBeachMusic!!  I cannot wait to hear about Portugal. Definitely on my ever-growing list of places I want to visit.  I know my grandparents went at least 2-3 times and they loved it.
  • @Casadena, Yay G!  I'm glad he enjoyed the celebration.

@ILoveBeachMusic, Have a great time in Portugal!

Yay G! Wonderful and sounds like the perfect celebration @Casadena
    Have a great time @ILoveBeachMusic
@levioosa I do workouts at home streaming Bodi (formerly Beachbody) onto my tv. They run specials in early January, I most recently got two years of unlimited streaming for $175 (just over $7/mo). (When I do their Pilates I like all of the instructors except for Autumn Calabrese.) Working out alone, in my living room, works for me, but I know that lots of people are more motivated in a gym/class/around others.

I'm really good with some at home workouts but I feel like pilates would be one of those things I would *need* to go into the gym to do because at home my motivation would be terrible. I don't necessarily need the group dynamic but sometimes when I get home my motivation just flies out the window. Also part of the reason I want to do it is to get to the Reformer classes because they look so cool. I'll have to try Bodi maybe on a monthly basis to see if I like it.

  • Yay G!! Sounds like a great day!

I made it through 3 days of work now home chilling with J before going to dinner and to see Once with my BFF. I’m already tired but need a night out so bad!
  • @levioosa I do drop-in classes at ClubPilates (I think it's a national chain) and around me they're $35 per class. Every once in a while, they run a $99 per month special for a 4 class commitment which is a great price. My problem is that because reformer classes are so small (12-15 ppl usually), they fill up fast and if you don't have solid times you are always available it's hard to actually get into them. OR you have to guess your schedule and book weeks out. When i get to them though, i think it's my favorite type of workout i've ever done!
