Ours was nice! Saturday H took N to gymnastics and then to his cousins baby shower and got to see some family that he hasn't seen in awhile. G's swim lessons was right in the middle of the shower, so we opted to stay behind and had a mommy/G day. Swimming, park, toy store to pick out his N's bday present, portillos, and a movie at home. It was so nice spending some time with just G, it's been awhile.

Yesterday, H golfed with a buddy super early while I wrangled kiddos and we played outside in the sprinkler and baby pool. Cleaned up and took H out to lunch, then G and I watched a movie while N and H took a long nap on the couch. Walked to the park, dinner, and baths. Felt like a really like and very nice weekend.

Woke up in a mood today though - N was up twice at horrible times and then woke me up for the day at 5am. I'm dragging!

Good! It's been busy so tbh both days I slept in.

Saturday - BK went to inlaws for a sleepover. M & I went to ikea as we're redoing our kitchen. We've done stuff online but need the details.
We're checking the book and booking an appt.
Afterwards we went to book store - I didn't find book I wanted so I ordered on Amazon.
    {"Ranger" by Dr Rebecca Sharp - it's spicy apparently ...}

Saturday night I went out with my mum and MIL to the casino for Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute called "Music of the Night" and it was SOOOO GOOD!!
I love picking seats because I always get good ones. We were close to stage.
    It was amazing.

Sunday M went fishing for fathers day. It's SFIL first fathers day without his dad, so we felt BK going would be a nice distraction. Plus we did fathers day stuff early since M wanted to go fishing at butt crack of dawn lol

I did take M out for lunch, and we did a nice dinner together. For M's bday in July, I'll probably do a dinner the 3 of us and get him like a steak for dinner lol

BK is almost done for the year. In September she's off to grade one! Wtf!

Weekend was busy but fun. We had a wedding reception Saturday night; I came home early and H stayed out and had a great time. M was at the in laws do H slept in yesterday while me and baby J took it easy.

I saw the MJ musical Friday night and it was so good. It’s all complicated because he clearly did super horrible things.

Back at work today and we’re bracing for a heat wave (high 80s/90s all week, lows in the 70s). I know that’s pretty normal for some of you but we’re not set up for this. We have a lot of older homes without AC/Central Air (we don’t have it) and most schools are still in session but don’t have AC. I can’t wait until it’s over.

We’re not super set up for high heat either @charlotte989875…I have a window unit in my bedroom and lugged my second one up from the basement yesterday to put in a living room window (was between there and the kids’ bedroom…went with the LR bc then we’ll all have a cool place during the day and they can sleep in the LR if it’s hot enough, they fit on our large sectional couch). I haven’t had to use AC yet this season (I know many parts of the country have been sweltering and we’re lucky), but we’re projected for highs in the 80s this next week.  Our schools have central AC but it’s definitely not noticeable if there are more than five people in a classroom.

Weekend was nice.  Our town pool opened for the season on Saturday and we were there for over six hours, love it there. Sunday was the usual mass and prep cooking but with an added visit to see my dad and more swimming in my parents’ pool.  ExH did not see the kids but DDs brushed it off with “eh..that’s okay, we just saw him Monday”. DS was quiet and I definitely think disappointed, he definitely misses exH the most and is also objectively the easiest of the three of them. New plan to try and get exH to just come around and take DS for a few hours here and there.

I have all of the appointments today. Therapy, hair, laser treatment and more. I’m pretty tired. We went out yesterday for Father’s Day and then hung out with SIL and her H which was mostly fun. We were in bed at a decent hour but then I woke up with the worst abdominal pain. It was so bad that I was talking myself through how and when I would go to the ER. Luckily it subsided after a couple hours. I think something I ate yesterday just didn’t agree with me in the end. It was pretty nonspecific which is why I waited it out for a bit. My stomach is still a little uneasy today but at least I’m not in pain.

Today is cool enough (high 70s) but it’s starting to warm up exponentially and I’m =( about it. Next Wednesday it’s going to be 98. Then we leave for our trip. Most homes here are built with AC although a lot of people can’t afford to run it so that creates a lot of difficulty. We have a lot of heat stroke with elderly individuals on fixed incomes and with our large unhoused populations in the summer. In the past few years it’s also becoming a huge problem in the mountains. Historically there were maybe 7-10 days total during the year where you’d need AC up there. But now with temperatures rising consistently more and more people are struggling with temperatures they aren’t used to, with homes that are equipped to keep heat in, not out.

I’m ready for vacation. I’ve just got to push through this week. I hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Sounds like there were a lot of fun events this past weekend for WW peeps.

My work had a bowling event on Saturday.  It was pretty fun.  Good drinks.  Though the food was mediocre, except for some Southwestern eggrolls.  Those were delicious.  I wish I'd eaten more of those and only a bite or two of everything else.

Sorry some of you all are having to experience this heat without a/c.  The struggle is real!  This is the time of year when I turn into a hermit.  Scuttling from one air-conditioned place to another and trying to avoid the outside as much as possible, lol.

I had really wanted to be in Cincinnati before summer came upon us, but I knew that would be reaching.

We have the twins here this week. One of them is having major behavior problems and I'm about to send him home but won't because that would crush the other one. Yesterday we went to church then to the state park for pony rides and to the library for books. We went to the zoo today. We got there early to beat some of the heat and the crowds. It wasn't crowded at all but by noon we were all wilted. We spent the rest of the day at home in the AC. Tomorrow is my friend's son's memorial service so H will be home with them in the afternoon. It is going to be record breaking heat again so another inside afternoon. We are suppose to go to a baseball game tomorrow evening but we will see how behavior is going and may call that off since it will require a later bedtime. Part of his problem is that he isn't eating enough and is getting majorly hangry. I'm trying to offer things that he will eat but he is just so darn picky. He doesn't eat a lot of protein which he needs to fill up and stay full. Unfortunately, the other twin is picking up on the misbehaviour and saying "I'm not doing that, Nana" in a very Edie Haskel way if any of you get that reference. Oh well, we will make it to end of the week. We may need to reevaluate next year especially since the younger brother will be here too. Probably a shorter time span instead of a whole week.

Needless to say I've been going to bed very early!

That’s tough @ILoveBeachMusic. M just did an overnight at my MILs and I think she was ready for him to come home. I forget how old your grands are but I think they’re close to M? It’s tough because, at least for us, he does so much better when he’s on a schedule. But when he’s there he’s off his routine. They let him have a lot of treats. He doesn’t always nap, and he gets to stay up late. All of those contribute to him having a harder time listening and calming himself down. We don’t want to be too particular when he’s with them because they’re wonderful, they love him, and within reason they can manage how they want. But we know there are consequences (like not listening!) when he’s off his routine.

Hope things turn around for you all today!

They just turned 6 last week. We try our best to stay on their sleep schedule, keeping the one hour time difference in mind. We also keep rest time (quiet play) and meal time pretty much the same. DD and SIL are very schedule oriented so we try and respect that. Things turned around a little yesterday. He ate better which made a huge difference! He just gets so hangry but doesn't realize that is what is causing all his emotions. He is also the more emotional of the two in general.

It makes SUCH a big deal! Glad it got better, hope today is too!
