The first day of school was a success for all.  Enjoying this time before homework and activities begin, bc that's all coming soon.  We've been having fall-ish weather (50s at night, low 70s now, so not crisp autumn air but getting there) which definitely raises the spirits.  ExH has been behaving too recently so fingers crossed that that continues!
  • We’ve also been having some beautiful weather here. I’m so ready for the crisp fall air!

M did great in pre-k but had a bit of a meltdown on the way home so we took a walk for ice cream and that seemed to help. I’m wrapping things up with my current team and getting ready to head to the new role. The more I talk and meet with folks the more excited I am!

Glad it was a good day for you @ei34
Saw Reagan with some friends last night and it was actually pretty good.  Long.  But well done. At some angles I thought Dennis Quaid’s prosthetics made me feel like I was watching a marvel movie (they made his face too wide) but over all they nailed his look.
Edit to add: I have a wedding coming up next month and it had a 4.5 hour gap! Downtown Chicago. I only know my BFF and her husband.  I may be pre-worrying about this but if she’s part of the wedding party and doing whatever the bride/groom do in those 4.5 hours… it’s completely ok for me to skip the ceremony and go to the party only right? I have to talk to BFF to see what they’re doing during that gap, but I’m going solo and won’t know what to do.

  • I would skip the ceremony, @CharmedPam . Even if you have stuff to do, I wouldn't want to spend that much time roaming around the city in my dress clothes hoping I don't screw up my hair and makeup.

Apparently there's another school shooting here this morning. I don't think anyone knows what's going on yet, but it just never ends. I'm so sad and worried for all the families of those kids. They probably have no idea what is going on.

Nothing much else going on here. I think we're about to get a storm.
  • With a wedding reception you could attend BETWEEN the wedding and reception don't go to the ceremony!

I took the day off to take DH for an endoscopy so I'm chilling while he has that procedure.  He doesn't do well pre-op so I'm hoping he's in a good place.
  • Ugh! Just saw the news report on that school in GA @MyNameIsNot.  How far are we in the school year? This is sickening

  • I just saw the news about the school shooting in Georgia. It is sickening. Something has got to be done, but I don't know how we are going to get anything done unless we have a total change in power and in culture.

@CharmedPam I would totally not go to the ceremony. That is a ridiculous gap. What the heck are the bride and groom thinking?

We spent the morning/early afternoon cleaning up our yard after the Friday storm. We left Saturday morning for Tennessee so H just moved branches out of the driveway so we could drive out. Luckily we didn't have major damage or loose power. We had a great visit with our friends but now have lots of yard stuff to do. Next week we are heading up to Chicago for a few days. We haven't been up there since June.
