I had a really nice long weekend.  The kids and I apple picked on Friday, we went to a playoff watch party on Saturday (I know we're more of a football crowd on TK, but irl baseball is by far my favorite sport, and my team is in it this year, woohoo. We went 1-1 this weekend and are playing the next two NLDS games at home *fingers crossed*), and Sunday was the usual mix of mass, cooking, and cleaning.

Even though I felt like I was on my feet a lot I guess I rested a lot too, bc my stitches site on my leg is kind of aching here at work.  I'm sitting now (I'm always on a quiet study hall duty this period, in the library) but it's my first time since 7:15, I guess I was just sitting more frequently while off.  It's not really a sitting job but I'll figure it out.

  • No rain here. It's still summer and I'm annoyed about it. This weekend, we're going to the mountains to do fall things which isn't as much fun if it's 80 degrees out. I guess at least I don't have to pack fire wood.

Weekend was good. We went for a hike yesterday and I saw a huge snake. Sadly, it just looks like a black stick in the ten million photos I took. Otherwise it was just the usual. Went to a soccer game and had a cook out with some girlfriends.
  • It does still seem like summer! I had a beach day on Saturday with my nephews. But it’s back to being cold (60’s) and the heat went on again.  I think I have one more mow on Friday and I’m done for the season.  So that’s good.
I’m not a sporty person at all @ei34 but exciting that your team is in!

  • Weekend was decent. Saturday SIL came over and we played some lawn games and I made enchiladas. Then yesterday we went to see the grandparents. I don’t know about grandpa. He doesn’t seem well. I asked him to go to UC today to get a chest X-ray to make sure he isn’t developing pneumonia after laying in his chair all last week. We did go to dinner and they really liked that.

I have a derm appointment today which I feel like canceling because not much has changed and I’m sure there’s not really going to be any answers or treatment modifications. But I’ll go. It’s just far. Boo.

    Otherwise SSDD.

  • Weekend was good. Had my company golf tournament Friday morning, then picked up G early from school to go to my parents. Saturday morning i had a 3 hour breakfast with a good friend and then putzed around the farm all day. Went out to dinner iwth G and my parents Saturday night. Sunday was church, breakfast, farm stuff, then drove home. It was so good for G to have some brother free grandparent time!

N woke up early and was adamant that he was NOT going back to school today. Fussed for awhile and then was so excited once it was time. I'm so glad they love their school. Back at work today and still feel underwater, i really like it though! Hope everyone elses weekend was good.
  • Weekend was decent.  Saturday some friends came over.  She and I worked on setting up her Cricut and the guys visited and watched football.  Sunday I crafted in the morning and made snowman ornaments while DH watched the Vikes play in London.  I ran errands and came home to watch the Packer's win.

Busy week at work.  I'll be onsite tomorrow which always involves more planning and an earlier start.

Weather has been beautiful here.  Sunny & cool.

  • I didn't do much of anything except visit Mom.  I took out some DVDs from the library, which felt so weird, and watched one of them.  Watching the others this week.  An old Knottie, who's handle I can't remember now, recommended "The Fall" with Lee Pace.  SUCH a good movie,  I'd describe it as a much, Much, MUCH darker Princess Bride with visuals akin to Hero.  Absolutely beautiful visuals: sets and costumes.  They look almost painted.  I had to look up some of it and most of it was shot in camera, not CGI.  I don't understand how Lee Pace isn't being offered more roles, he's just an amazing actor.  From The Piemaker (Pushing Daisies) to Empire (Foundation) -- and Empire is an always changing/evolving role.

No big plans for the week.  The woman who does my brows (I get them threaded) wanted to practice her lash lifts and asked if she could do one on me for free.  Yes, ma'am!  I love getting those, but it's such a vanity cost, I really can't justify it t myself very often.
  • Do we have any knotties in the path of Milton?

  • Weekend was good. DS2 came home Friday. We watched the 4 episodes of Agatha that have been released on Disney+ and we watched both Hocus Pocus 1 and 2. I can't believe I had never seen them. Yesterday was church and starting to pack for Oregon and Pennsylvania. I leave for Oregon on Thursday, return Tuesday then leave for Pennsylvania on Wednesday. I need to have to suitcases packed. I'm almost there. I'm just finishing up a little laundry today. I've also been cleaning. My cousin the children's book author will be in town this week. He is coming over for dinner tomorrow night. H will cook but I'm in charge of getting the house pulled together!
  • @CharmedPam, we don't have any Knotties in FL.  But I feel bad for people there.  Milton is further south than Helene was, but will be hitting some of the same areas.  There's still a bunch of debris lying around from Helene.  A LOT of it.  That stuff is going to get picked up and become flying projectiles.

I have a cousin who lives on the east coast of FL.  Helene's path went north instead of across FL, so my cousin wasn't affected for that one.  I think she'll be too far south for this one to have much effect (crossing fingers).

It's expected to make landfall at Tampa, which also really sucks.  That's a good- sized city.  For the football people out there, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing the New Orleans Saints this Sunday.  They're coming into town tomorrow to avoid the storm.

  • I'm really nervous about Milton.  I know a few people evacuating and the intensifying it did over the span of a snack time today was frightening.

Weekend was decent and had a very nice time w/ Chiquita's GS troop.  Yesterday was church, laundry and I'm fairly convinced I'm grateful for the diflucan I'm picking up in an hour.
