Tuesday

How's everyone on our tough day of the week?

Re: Tuesday

  • I'm dragging a bit, a hormonal headache is here but otherwise pretty SSDD.  Tuesday me is thankful to Sunday me for making chicken cutlets for dinner tonight, it's finally the last Tuesday of soccer which is nice, bc with Tues being my late day at work, it's been tight getting home and having dinner before having to make it to the field.
  • Smart Sunday you @ei34.  I canceled my food boxes until November because I wasn’t eating the food. I think the food boxes are not meant for leftovers because it turned me off eating them.  I don’t know what to do now.  Maybe casserole it up for awhile? Casseroles are good for heating up, cheap and easy.
Today is a wfh day.  I do want to go see Terrifier 3 so maybe I’ll motivate myself for that.

  • Hello!!  Happy Tuesday.  Not doing too bad.

I ripped the bandaid off and started applying for jobs.  We'll see what comes of any of it.  My coach through the outplacement agency has been fantastic, so I can reach out to her if I feel I'm not getting anywhere.

Other than that, just trying to not be bored and also not spend money just to spend it.  LOL I need to pull out some crochet projects and work on them.

Tomorrow, I am going to SIL/BIL's new house for their inspection.  SIL and I are going to take some measurements for ordering furniture and whatnot.  We also wanted to get a closer look at a couple other things.

I want to go vote early, but there's only one polling place in town and I've heard it's been an hour+ wait every day.  Ugh.  At least it's at the library, but still...annoying.

A lot of fall ball (soccer and baseball) is ending this week/weekend.  I know several parents rejoicing.  LOL
  • Well I was supposed to be traveling for work this week but baby J is sick. Like really congested and sleeping a lot. Probably will need a pediatrician visit this afternoon but hopefully this is the worst of it.

Can’t seem to catch a break.
  • Chiquito still has soccer through the first weekend of November but if Chiquita has more it's likely banquet and supporting the varsity girls.

We're trying to figure out the winter sport for Chiquita.   She's talked about wanting to fence but she's also serious about wanting to continue to play soccer and needs to work on her run.  Because of that I'd like her to do indoor track with a few other girls from the JV team but we'll see.    She's said she wants to play lacrosse in the spring which is going to also help her conditioning and stamina which is great.  Now we just need to get her into the groove of doing her work and filing it versus leaving it on the table.

  • There was a neighborhood party at my friend's house on Friday and that was a lot of fun.  There are three households of new neighbors on our small street.  Unfortunately, only one of them came.  She lives directly across the street from me and only bought her house a few months ago.  Nice person!  I hope I run into her again.

On Sunday, my H and I did a Costco/Walmart run.

New and interesting developments on my health.  Though overall, good.  I had my endocrinologist appointment last Friday.  I told him I know this isn't really his specialty, but that I'd been feeling especially anxious and more depressed lately.  That I suspect it might be pre-menopause related and I'd be seeing my gynecologist soon.  I also mentioned I started seeing a therapist.

He nods knowingly and says, "Your thyroid levels came back too high.  Hyperthyroidism can cause anxiety.  It may not be the only thing going on, but that has something to do with it."

Crazy!  Because my real problem is hypothyroidism and I've spent years with it always being too low, even though I take medication for it.  He added a second thyroid medication about 18 months ago and my levels were finally in the normal range, until this last appointment.  He took me off the newer one to see how things go.

Unfortunately, it will take weeks for my thyroid levels to come down.  But it explains so much!  I've also occasionally had heart palpitations and my hands trembling over the last month or so.  Both of those are also signs of hyperthyroidism.

I joked to him, "I thought people with hyperthyroidism have a lot of energy?  I'm just as tired as I've always been!  Not fair, lol."

For such a small gland, the thyroid is a real bitch.  It has such major and negative effects, whether it's too high or too low.

  • I'm mostly productive today. I walked in to a couple of solvable problems and now I feel like I'm on a role.

Nothing much else going on. I'm feeling out of shape lately and thinking I need a new challenge to get me back into it, but I don't know what I want to do. I wish I had friends that were more into this kind of thing; I'd love to train for something with a friend.
  • My appliances are trying to end me.  LOL

A week ago Sunday, the oven went out.  Repair guy came yesterday.  It wasn't cheap, but less than a new oven.

Today, the washer is making a horrific grinding sound.  It's likely the agitator and DH should be able to fix it, but seriously.

Part of this is that we've had 5-6 adult size people living here and everything is just getting used more than normal.  But FFS...
  • I'm finally back and getting into normal stuff again. The trip to Oregon was a lot of fun. Unfortunately one friend had a stomach bug and I picked up a milder version of it. That kind of put a damper on wine tasting at the wineries. At least I think it was a bug. I've kind of been off drinking lately, which is a good thing in general. However, visiting wineries in the Willamette Valley isn't a lot of fun if you can't enjoy their offerings. We had fun walking on the beach, hiking and just talking A LOT! The morning after I got home H and I headed to Pennsylvania for a meeting for him. We had dinner with some friends  which was lots of fun. The rest of the time was ok. We picked up the pup yesterday (he was in the kennel for the PA trip). He was so excited to be home and to see me since he hadn't seen me in about a week and a half.

We voted early today. The line wasn't too bad and moved quickly. I go back and forth between being very hopeful and having no faith in the majority of the American people.  I know my vote probably won't make a difference in Indiana but at least I can try!

The rest of the week is just normal stuff along with some appointments.
  • I hope J recovers quickly @charlotte989875

Weekend was mostly good. I am feeling horrible in general. So bad that I even made a doctor's appointment. I can't even get out of bed on some of my days off and it's starting to scare me. I did make myself rally and on Saturday we went out. Then I died on Sunday again. And most of yesterday was lower key. I tried to clean more and then had to rest again.

Work is insane as usual. Taking time off is a blessing and a curse because I refuse to work most of the time on my days off but then I come back to a huge inbox of tasks. Otherwise, trying to make it to the weekend one day at a time. There's some low key drama about Halloween but I'm trying not to let it bother me. I really don't want to go anywhere (neither does H), but we're feeling pressured to go to H's parent's house.

@levioosa, I know you've been worried about your health lately and am sorry to hear you're feeling worse.  I hope your doctor can shed some light on what is wrong and it's nothing serious and easy to treat.  Your job is so stressful and such long hours.  I'm sure that doesn't help.

You know your relationship better with your ILs, but especially considering how you've been feeling lately, you should bail on going over to their house on Halloween.  Save your energy for the things you have to do or want to do.
