ExH ended up being a huge AH yesterday, irony being I'd just been telling my mom that it had been a few weeks of smooth sailing with him and I was thankful for it a couple hours before he started up.  Whatever.

Again a pretty normal work day and then super busy after school, Wednesday is just a busy day this year.  But we're all feeling well/healthy and thankful for that.

We just cannot get in a groove with after school/dinnertime/bedtime. I know i'm a bit less available since I started this new job - I work in the office a bit more and don't have quite as much "free" time to do stuff like prep dinner, etc. I feel like i have no time with the kids and you can tell by their behavior, especially at bed time. H has been busy too so he hasn't been as available to keep up with stuff like laundry lately either. Just kind of drowning a bit. And i'm traveling the next 2 days for work and feel a little guilty that i'm so excited to be away. All the feelings. 

I'm very behind on Christmas shopping, I am not feeling motivated at all. My kids have too much stuff already, G's birthday is the week before Christmas, and my IL's cannot be reasoned with about "toys" and "something fun" for gifts and go overboard no matter what. It's just becoming very not fun. I'm tired. 

Wow that was whiny. sorry. 

Anyone have good tights/pantyhose suggestions? I need a good nude and a good black pair. I typically wear tight bike shorts under skirts and dresses and would like a pair of tights that fit kind of like that? Willing to spend whatever at this point.

OK, @Casadena we're kindred spirits.  What's Christmas shopping?  We have ONE item and it's for my brother and his FI because FBIL is a great cook and we saw a cute cutting board at Costco.

1) Can you make use of prepped meals at placed like Costco or do casseroles or soups on the weekend?  I loathe dinner plans but find that if I can put out a batch of soup, a casserole or a pasta sauce we eat for a few more days.   Also, i'm not sure how well you and your family eat w/ variety but I'm a big fan of sheet pan dinners when there is enough time to cook the items but you want a lot of hands - off time.  I can do something like cut up chicken, potatoes and another veggie and roast them all in the oven doing a stir and then I have time to prep lunches for the next day, rotate laundry or another evening prep item. 

The older my kids get the more I trusted them to clean themselves and not trash their jammies so on a day the dinner may be slightly late but they needed showers I could get them to do that, then feed and then we could get into bed time.

I'm also a big fan of the individually packaged fish I can buy in bulk bags at Costco or the giant bags of breaded chicken tenders from Costco.  They cook up fast and could be a chicken parm dinner/sandwich quickly.

2) I hate to applaud big box but Amazon makes it so freaking easy to buy  from them.  The older my kids get the other thing they're open to are experience gifts.    I'm overwhelmed at the amount of "stuff" we have and am trying not to add to the minimal space.  I'm not sure how Chiquita fits in her bed.  The Squishmallows have invaded. 

3) I'm hearing good things about Sheertex and am likely going to pick up a pair in nude.

I keep having to put Harley in bedroom jail during the day and it's starting to wear me out because I don't like doing it.  I think it's the weather change/daylight change and she just seems to be pissed that I'm at my desk working.  I don't have this issue with her except when I'm at my desk.  But the constant strident meowing and screwing with my desk stuffs is too much.  When I put her in bedroom jail, she meows for a bit and then just goes to sleep.

I'm ready for the end of this week.  IDK why, but everything is grating on my nerves and I'm having a lot of emotional ups/downs and that is also wearing me out.  I feel good, but it's like a monster is lurking in the background, telling me I shouldn't and trying it's best to pull me down.

Otherwise, just SSDD.  Need to walk to the library today to get a book that's on hold for me, but nothing much else.  Maybe the sunshine/walk will do me a bit of good.

It seems like the week before a holiday is always the longest week. Yesterday felt like Thursday all day; I even came to check for Prudie. 

Nothing much going on here. Everyone at work is just annoying right now and I'm ready for a break. We're on our own for t-giving this year for the first time in years, so I'm thinking about what (if anything) to make. H doesn't care about the holiday at all and would be fine with chinese take out. I'm thinking about either ordering a grocery store meal or a restaurant. A lot of places around here do the traditional thing.

@MyNameIsNot We are doing a charcuterie board for Thanksgiving this year, made at a local store.  I'm going to grab my favorite NA wine and add some apple cider ice cubes to it.  I had leftover pretty plastic dishes from my bday party this year that we're using.  Easiest Thanksgiving dinner ever.

@VarunaTT, my cat Maple Bar isn't too bad when I WFH.  But some mornings she wants to constantly jump up onto my desk and stand between me and the keyboard.  But I taught her a trick!  I will say, "Down," while pointing my finger to the floor and she will usually jump down.  Do not mistake that for obedience, lol.  She knows if she doesn't, I will gently pick her up and place her on the floor.  She does not like to be picked up. so her compliance is only to avoid that, lol.

It's my birthday! And coincidentally one of my WFH days.  My H cooked a special breakfast for me.  He will also make or get dinner, but I have not decided what I want yet.  I don't have any other plans for today.  But my friend and I are going out for brunch on Sunday to celebrate.  There is a delicious nearby restaurant that has $25 unlimited bloody Marys, mimosas, and sangrias.  You do not have to pick only one.

@short+sassy This just started and the only thing I can see that's different is daylight savings kicking in and I put the plastic on the window.  She usually is asleep by me most of the day or plays with her springs.  I've even been making sure to play with her on breaks to get some of the energy out.  That somewhat helps, but not enough.  But she doesn't do it at night, no matter what I'm doing and whether I'm paying active attention to her or not.  I told her she wasn't a trust fund kitty and her Companion has to work for all her toys.

@varunaTT I also joke with Aurora that she's pretty bold and bougie for someone who was found in an abandoned warehouse. H has finally figured out that for his cat, he has to place a cat bed right next to the laptop so Jack feels involved and present with him while he works. "Ohhh cats are soooo aloof and mean" everyone says. No, they are adorable, co-dependent needy little hellions. lol. Harley is young though, so even though this is beyond exasperating, as you train her, it will help stick as she makes it out of her terrible teen years. 

Work today. Yesterday was awful. I was at work over 13 hours. I'm anxious about leaving on time today because we are seeing a show tonight. I've already accepted that I will be *not cute* and will have to stick with whatever makeup and hair I chose this morning. I was so tired last night I wasn't able to choose an outfit for tonight and that's stressful to think about. It's a casual thing, but you know last minute choices are always the ones to cause a meltdown.
