How was everyone’s weekend?

Weekend turned out pretty good.  On Friday I did a board & brush wall plaque, not really something I liked because the paint bled through on some areas, and it’s a gift for my parents no less. “Here you go. Your kid made this! As you can very well see. Just so happens to be your 45 year old kid!”  It’s personalized so I won’t post.

Saturday my friends picked me up and we did a guess where trip.  Honestly, search for your area because they are fun! We had four stops, two cemeteries, a forest preserve and Joliet State Prison (shut down and supposedly haunted).  They have trips in Canada and America! $65 a kit.

Sunday was a lazy day.  I tried to put a cabinet together and I did it wrong so just ordered another.

My weekend was nice too.  The swim meet was fun and Wicked was incredible, it now falls into the category of Broadway show that I preferred the movie to the play (along with Hairspray, Mamma Mia, and Hamilton).  

Lots of cooking to do and it starts tonight.

I have caught the daycare plague. All I want to do is sleep but I have a team member that announced today they are going to be out indefinitely. Awesome. I’m so tired. 

(I’m not a monster, they need the time off, they’re entitled to it and I’m supportive but also now it’s a ton of extra work)

I was traveling the last part of last week, then had a decent weekend at home with the dudes. In office today, home tomorrow morning, then off to IA for the rest of the weekend. Helping cook all day Wed, family coming to my parents house Th, and trying to get tickets for a football game on Friday evening, but if we don't, H and I will probably just head to a bar to watch. I'm a little bit hoping my Aunt/Uncle decide to offer us their tickets (season pass holders) bc they're box seats and very shielded from the expected 30 degree high temp.

Ooo, @CharmedPam that looks really fun!  I'm going to check it out.  Might be fun with my friends in bigger cities, I'm sure my city isn't on it.

I basically watched movies all weekend and worked on my new book nook.  I watched Nope, which I felt was probably the best UFO/alien movie I'd ever seen and I really enjoyed.  The suspense is perfect.  It is slow paced, but totally worth it.  Till, which was just okay.  The actor playing Till's mother was wonderful.  I don't know if I've just disassociated so hard with our current political climate, or if I just knew the story so well (I'd watched the documentary this was based on), but I really didn't have much of a reaction.  They handled the... well, the beating, with a delicate touch and didn't show anything that wasn't already part of public history (the photos his mother allowed to be shown on Jet were recreated), so I think I was prepared.  Finished Cross, which was so good.  

Finished the new book nook.  This one was a lot harder than the first one, but a lot more fun.  It's called Alice's Evidence and is a replica of the court hearing in Alice in Wonderland.


Otherwise, SSDD.  Thanksgiving is already planned and I just have to pick up stuff on Thursday and head to Mom's.  Freezing apple cider into cubes today and will combine them with my favorite NA wine, which I think will be tasty.

Weekend here was good, but fast. The burpee workout was as shitty as expected, but I did learn that you can just go run around a high school track whenever the school isn't using it, so that was fun. The whole group headed over to a nearby brewery and lunch afterwards, so it was a good time bonding with friends that I don't see often enough. Date night was fun and I still have leftover risotto for lunch today, so yay there. 

I think I'm going to dip out in a few minutes to get groceries for the week. I decided to make a nice meal on Thursday, so I'd like to go ahead and get stuff before the store gets too wild.
