Bedtime battles continue in our house. G was not asleep til after 10 last night. The bedtime routine is pretty set, they do great with it until it's actually time to get in their beds. They jump around, scream, wrestle, and are generally destructive. They get in such a wild state they can't calm themselves. We try to redirect and they just fight us like crazy. I'm polling everyone I know, would you just kiss them goodnight and let them go insane as long they're in their room? Separate bedrooms for now? I'm out of ideas. 

HEading to IA after lunch today so finishing up some work items and then running around getting everyone packed. And also our washer is broken so most of our clothes are dirty (easy to pack at least), and our water heater is broken so it's a freezing shower or nothing, and our garage door is broken so our car will sit out all week while we're gone. Sometimes i just have to laugh. Feels like everything annoying and expensive is happening at once!!

If you think they feed off each other's energy I'd split them up for bedtime if you think there isn't a fear of the dark or something that hits later. 

We had a great weekend and Sunday night saw the Soulshine concert at MSG.  Yesterday we slept in and had a studen-led conference for Chiquito but by the end of the afternoon he had a fever.  There's a walking bacterial pneumonia going around so I'm monitoring his temp and if it's up again this afternoon I'm calling to take him in for pedi care hours.  We're supposed to have a couple people for Thanksgiving so this is not ideal!

@Casadena Big hugs, that's a lot.  I hope Chiquito is okay and it's a simple cold, @banana468.

I feel hungover.  After work, I went to visit my mom.  My aunt and uncle were visiting.  I know my uncle is a Trumper, but everyone kept their mouths shut, so that was good.  Then I ended up spending an hour working on everyone's phones.  My aunt almost had her phone storage filled up, so I was trying to figure out what the heck she'd done.  Then, since I was on that side of town, I stopped to see my friend J for a bit, since I hadn't seen him in over a month.  Then I stopped at my local hangout and had a few NA beers that sounded good.  I was home by 10, but I was so hepped up from socializing, I was AWAKE.  Finally just laid down on the couch with the TV and was like, I'll fall asleep eventually.  But I'm dragging a bit this morning.  It was nice seeing people that I like though.

SSDD.  I'm ready for the long weekend.  My new building kit is on it's way (this has been such a nice hobby to start for me) and I think I'm making cookies with my cookie press tonight, for decorating.

@Casadena Do you still have access to the Child Life Specialist? The suggestion Banana gave of separating them is good if it seems like they're bouncing off each other's energies. Although timing may not be in your favor, maybe extending the wind down to bed? Is there a part of the routine that can be done in the bed that they enjoy so the argument about the bed itself is helped? I don't have children, so take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt.

I am at work today and I'm tired. I might have overdone it yesterday although I was very productive. It felt nice to be so productive because lately I feel like I haven't done anything. I cleaned the whole house, started some Turkey Day prep, went to a couple appointments, painted my nails, and some other stuff I can't remember now. Otherwise, SSDD. I feel like I need some sort of change in my life. Unfortunately all of the things I would like to change are either monumental, or they're simply unchangeable. I feel like we probably should have just hosted Thanksgiving because I'm basically still making everything anyways. And I'm gonna absolutely lose my shit on SIL B who states she'll "try to bring a store bought pie," but she won't do anything else. She isn't working this whole stupid week. She's one of the most selfish people. 

Good news the thyroid ultrasound showed a post inflammatory lymph node. The bad news is all of my studies and labs keep coming back normal which is still good news, but it's really frustrating to feel the way I feel and not have any solid answers. Because the lab work is good...but I am definitely not. I went from weekends of cleaning the house, 3-5 hour hikes/workouts, and going out all on the same day, to not being able to get out of bed until 3 or 4 pm some days. I am thrilled I don't appear to have thyroid cancer because I was very convinced that's the way I was heading for a moment between the debilitating fatigue and rapid thyroid enlargement, but I'd like some friggen answers.

Hugs @levioosa. Not having answers is sometimes worse than the illness. 

Nothing much going on around here. Work is pretty quiet and I'm not in the mood to do the cleanup type of junk, so I'm mostly playing around and planning to leave early. I'm keeping my sister's dog this weekend, so I'm about to go meet her at the park for a quick walk and hand off. H and I decided to play around with some cocktails this weekend, so I'm looking at recipes. I prefer us to stay home as much as we can when bonus dog visits.

i have to head out for some things, I decided yesterday to go to my friends place for Tgiving since it’s just her and another. I was invited to bigger events but low low low key is where I want to be.
also, I found my fave new swimsuit for my upcoming cruises (and just summer in general).  I went with my normal dress size and it’s a tad snug, but I’d only get store credit if I returned it so I’m squeezing into it! I got an extra $40 off with my shop pay $, so paid $50. I can see where $179 comes in.

I was feeling good yesterday and may have overdone it too. I coughed all night and am not feeling well today.  It's like rebound symptoms.  I did get a mani/pedi last night and that was relaxing.  I've been going to the same person for about 5 yrs. and it's a one person shop so we can chit chat or sometimes not.  

Cleaning person comes tomorrow morning which is great but that means the pre-clean today lol.  Really, just picking up the junk that accumulates.  

We are doing Thanksgiving with just us.  I bought a smoked turkey breast and will do potatoes, stuffing and a veg.  I have ingredients for an apple pie (DH doesn't like pumpkin), but we'll see how the energy holds out.  Otherwise it'll be parade watching and the evening Packer game.  

Friday will be prep for DH's birthday party on Saturday.  He wants german chocolate cupcakes so I'll do those.  It's just family so doing sloppy joes, chips, veggies and something else, maybe a potato salad.  Not planning on going out for Black Friday shopping but may check out some online deals.

We're off to the doc later.  I figured we've hit the deductible, Chiquita is immunocompromised and I need to know now what we're doing.

I told Chiquito what the doctor will likely do:  look in his ears, give a swab, look down his throat.  His response, "I'm getting an ENDOSCOPY?!?!"

No @levioosa, never even heard of it! But I googled and I’m like… what can’t that laser do?!? Have you gotten it? Hear anything good about it? I need to book an IPL
soon for my rosacea/broken capillaries.

@CharmedPam when your sister and dad have had them we have high level conversations to explain stuff.

Last year it was, "Well maybe if I get ulcerative colitis I'll do these things...." and we had to try to tell him that we kind of hope that it's something that doesn't become a family thing.

@CharmedPam I've heard good things about it. I bought a package which was reasonably priced so I'm looking forward to trying it. I had IPL in the past and I felt like it did a fat lot of nothing. My medspa had their Black Friday Sale and I bought a bunch of stuff and then I won the raffles for the Dysport and a Hydrafacial! And H won a ZO Skin kit which really means I got a ZO skin care kit. So exciting. lol. I am very curious about the Fotona because it's the machine, and it seems like to get some of the benefits it's very setting specific. So I could do the 4D lift but that wouldn't get the capillaries because that's a different setting. I booked the 4D but I'm going to talk to the clinician when I go to see if that's the right one for my current primary concerns.

It's just me and my H for Thanksgiving.  We did all our shopping this weekend, except for a few things we are picking up at Costco tonight.  Our neighbor friend usually comes by, but she is going to FL to visit family this year.

Our living room tv is on its last legs.  We bought a $220 55" big screen in an Amazon Black Friday sale.  But had the option to pick it up at Best Buy, so we chose that.  My H is meeting me at my office and we are going to pick it up tonight.  Then Costco.  Then my new favorite take-out taco place that has $2 tacos on Tuesday, on our way home.

It has been a stupid stressful day at work.  There's a big meeting every two weeks and it's bad luck it happens to fall tomorrow.  So the Project Coordinator has been firing e-mails at me all afternoon.  "What's the status of this package?  What's the status of that package, it's 65 days late?  What's the status of these three packages?  Two will be late if they don't go out tomorrow and the other will be late if it doesn't go out Monday.

Okay.  Whatever.  I'll do what I can, but my day ends tomorrow at 2pm.  Why isn't she on vacation?  Why aren't more people on vacation?  Aahhh!  I just want everyone to leave me alone, lol.

My cousin left this morning. His trip was successful. I'm very happy for him. I hope I can go with him to one of the schools the next time he is here. I would love to see his presentation to the students.

I've just about finished wrapping presents ( needed to get some wrapped so that DS1 and DIL could take their home this weekend). H finished the outside decorations today. Tomorrow I need to bake pies and cook eggs for deviled eggs. H is doing the turkey on Thursday and I will be in charge of all the sides. DS1 and DIL arrive tonight. Everyone else arrives tomorrow.

Safe travels @casadena and that's so frustrating about bedtime.  If you have the space, maybe try separating the boys at bedtime?  (Only if you can, my kids have always shared a bedroom, but I remember wishing we had extra bedrooms when they fed off each other in a wild way)

@CharmedPam, I love that swimsuit!  Those white panels on the side against the black give an optical illusion of the waist being way smaller than it is.

@levioosa, I'm really glad to hear it's not cancer or any other bad news for your thyroid.  But I am totally with you on how hard it is to not know what is wrong.  Because clearly there is something going on to have such a sudden and major change to your energy levels.  I hope you have an answer soon.  And it's easy to treat/nothing concerning so you can get back to your old self.
