How's everyone?  Rainy and dreary here, hoping the day goes quickly.

Yesterday's treats discussion was fun, thanks Pam for getting that ball rolling!

Admin put out a holiday breakfast in the faculty room this morning, we have a new principal, and two new APs (though one has been a teacher-turned-dept director for years here and is acting as an interim-AP, so not new new), and it's definitely the first time we've received a holiday treat, so it was much appreciated. I kept to just fruit (I'm still nervous about the family stomach bug although so far so good), but still, a nice gesture.  Fairly light evening, the kids have swim team but at the more local of the two pools, so no complaints.

We're prepping to have the wind pick up at noon and start howling.   Gusts of up to 60 MPH and power outages are predicted so I'm watching to see if there are after school activities.  Some local towns are dismissing early but at this point I think we're on time.

I'm trying to catch up on laundry between work meetings while the power is on!

My MA called out today so I expect today will be an utter shit show. She's also leaving me for good at the end of the month to another job and I'm really sad about it. I still haven't heard anything about the transfer. I tried driving past the new building last night but since it was dark I couldn't make out much to see how close they might be to finishing it. 

H is sick. He's going to take a COVID-19 test today. He has the cough, body aches, headache, chills, etc and I know he feels bad but the coughing was so dramatic last night. I just really hope I don't get sick.

I had an impromptu phone meeting with the newish steel manager.  He's a client employee, so not exactly my boss.  But the majority of my work is to support him and the steel department.  It was a good, general discussion about the department and some of the changes that may/may not be happening.  He wanted my feedback on some things.  He also wanted to make sure my workload wasn't overwhelming.  He does these check-ins every once in awhile and I appreciate it.

It was pouring rain last night and the winds were howling.  But today is nice and sunny, though cold.

i went to & Juliet last night with my friend,  it was phenomenal.  Check to see if they’re coming to your area.  I’ll wait here.
my rum balls are POTENT! Lol but they firmed up.  My cheapass didn’t want to buy spicedrum, so I used regular and maybe I should have used 3/4 cup instead of 1. Oh well.
why can’t you please anyone? Our friend K invited me, C, S and L to this cookie exchange but she had me invite them. They all said yes so I rsvp’d yes for them. I texted them with “see you tonight!” And C replied back “I didn’t rsvp to anyone (she did) and I’m not going. I cant enjoy the cookies and I dont want to sit around hearing about them. It’s like a blind person being told how beautiful something is”.  She’s gluten free.  I said “i get it. I didn’t think of that” with her response “no one does”
um.  Rude? K, C, S and L are all in meetup and we’ve been doing a lot lately.  What if C found out that S and L were invited but not her because I kept her gluten free allergy in mind? I’d get the backlash from being excluded!

I’m in leadership training all week so still catching up on posts! We’re supposed to get a ton of snow again tomorrow and H was less than helpful in trying to game plan. I can stay in the city tonight and tomorrow night if I need to; I’d rather not but if it’s bad I don’t want to get stranded. Yay Buffalo.

I just spent a whole conversation where I thought it was Thursday, while also another conversation about plans for this evening, so I knew it was Wednesday?  I have no idea what my brain is doing.  

Nothing too much going on.  Work has been slow, both in terms of actual work and my virtual machine.  It's hard not to feel frustrated when my actual tools are being an issue.

I have a Kynd kit to work on this afternoon that I'm looking forward to.  It's a little kit box that you put together for (my choice) a teen in the hospital for a mental health crisis.  The other option is for small children in the hospital.  My company buys the kit for you.  

Ordered some more cute can-be-on-camera PJs and my Christmas outfit.  I really like the outfit.  It's in that "quiet luxury" style, which I'm usually annoyed by, but the fabric, fit, and little splashes are so nice, I don't mind.  I LOVE this jacket, it's so soft.  It's not often that i just buy the full outfit as pictured, but I really liked the subtle sparkle on this.
