Wedding Woes

Is it Monday?

Time is meaningless this week. We sent M to school while we finish up last minute things for this week. How’s everyone doing?

Today should be a slow day, but one of the bosses already sent through a rush task.  **eyeroll**  Hopefully, that small annoyance is the biggest irritation of my day.

Harley puked in my bed last night, I think.  There's nothing on/in my bed, so maybe it was a dream, but I'll be changing my sheets this morning, just in case.  No really big plans.  I really feel like a Scrooge this year, but I don't really know why.

I finished building my globe and am looking for my next build.  I found one i really like, but it will be a job and I'm not sure I'm ready for a 14+ hours one.

ETA:  I am both furious and heartbroken that Sesame Street is in danger.  It somehow feels like such a foundational part of childhood to be in danger of losing it.
  • I'm working this morning and then off at noon until Friday.  I'm making lasagna this afternoon and setting up for family coming tomorrow at noon.  I have an eye appointment in the morning tomorrow.  Not my first choice, but appts are so hard to get that I snapped it up.  Looking forward to some new frames for the new year.

  • Hope the appt goes okay @MNNEBride
Good luck getting it all done @casadena and I’m bummed about Sesame Street too @varunaTT. I enjoyed it as a young child and it was my kids’ first show too.

The cousins’ Christmas cookie decorating party went well, the kids (and adults) had a lot of fun.  Next host duty is Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow night, I’m where I should be with that. There will only be four fish, times are hard 😝Also in a good place as far as gifts wrapped, etc.

We woke up to several inches of snow on Saturday morning, perfect winter solstice weather. It has been pretty cold as well, the kids keep going outside to play but then coming back in within 15 minutes. They’re adequately bundled up, it’s just, when the real feel is 8 degrees, you just don’t last very long.

Merry Christmas / Happy Hanukkah / Happy Holidays / Happy time off from work or whatever else anyone is celebrating these next couple days! Safe travels!
  • It is 11:30 PM and I finished the food prep.  I had a work meeting at 10 and the kids had pageant rehearsal until 3.   I came home and wrapped, made twice baked potatoes and a caramel espresso yule log.

Tomorrow it's clean time!  I need to be at the church with my Emperor Augustus and rest of family for 3 so we crunch into the rest of the tasks.     Must clean toilets and set tables and mop!
  • Merry Christmas Eve since I didn't have a chance to check in yesterday. I had appointments all morning/early afternoon. I came home a started baking what is hopefully the last of the baking - a batch of Nutella cookies and cranberry orange bread. Weekend was good. DS2 got home Friday night and will be with us probably through New Year's. He had a Christmas party to go to Friday and his friends asked him to stick around for a New Year's get together. He has the week off so he says he'll probably stay. DD arrives on the 26th with her family and we will do our family Christmas then. I still need to dust the extra bedrooms and mop the kitchen. Bathrooms are done. Tonight H is fixing dinner then we will be off to church. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to those that celebrate!
  • It's Christmas Eve and I am working the whole day today.  But decided to take the rest of the week off.

Wednesdays are the worst for when a holiday falls, lol.  Especially since that is normally my WFH day.
