Hands up if you’re working the rest of the week. I am. I am. Now until next Thursday is the black abyss of “what day is it, what’s going on?”

How was everyone’s christmas? Mine was same old. Same old. Christmas is about the kids and it’s awesome watching them open gifts. I don’t have any, but I saw vids of my nieces and nephews. 

I am on the road and guess who has 2 thumbs and stupidly forgot to bring her laptop charger? This girl. It’s 8:15 and already at 90%.  I work till it’s gone, and then get up at 5 tomorrow for my drive.  I’ll probably log in late tomorrow. I wonder if my IT department did this on purpose but the Microsoft windows laptop charger is near impossible to find in stores.  There’s no bestbuy in my P’s small town and staples, walmart and target don’t carry it.  It is what it is I guess.

I'm working.  I'm trying to rollover some PTO, for what reason, I have no idea.  

Nothing too much going on.  I have switched my skincare to La Roche Posay and so far, I'm pleased.  My skin feels a lot softer and better moisturized, and I think it looks brighter too.

Otherwise, no really big news.  I've saved some work things for this week that will keep me busy, so I'm not totally bored and unanchored during this black hole week of "what day, what time is it?"

A lot of beauty influencers are using that. I have the la Roche tinted sunscreen and it’s great for the summer. It’s not greasy at all and I feel like it’s a good make-up replacement for when out doors. In fact, maybe I should get some more for my upcoming cruises.

Back at work today too. Hopefully pretty quiet and just a few housekeeping things to update and monitor. Technically off tomorrow but definitely checking in. H is taking the kiddos to pick out birthday presents for the 2 parties this week and one next week. G has lots of December birthday buddies in his class at school. 

Heading to a friends house tonight for kid playing/dinner, SIL is coming over tomorrow, Bday party on Saturday, my fam is coming back on Sunday and staying most of the week. Busy busy.

Work tomorrow for me and I’m so sad about it. Christmas was a lot of fun and I got to meet my cousin’s girlfriend for the first time and we got along pretty well. They’re very young (23) so I hope she sticks around but it’s understandable if things happen. My parents kept their drama to a minimum and we all just collectively ignored my aunt’s spiciness. I could see how happy my grandparents were having everyone over and that was really special. 

Otherwise trying to recover and prepare for work tomorrow. Really wish work hadn’t been a POS and had let me switch some days, but it is what it is. I’m off all next week so that’s exciting. 

@charmedpam what about same day prime for the charger? Is it available where you are?

@CharmedPam one of the few dermatologists I like and follow highly recommended it.  I feel like the acne stuff I'd been using for years was too harsh on my skin as I'm aging.  My skin also just looked dull and I didn't like it.  I also will not spend tooooo much time on it.

My mom just slid me money this Xmas with instructions to spend it on myself.  I have combo with a slide to oily skin and I'm 47.  I took the pic and did their "analysis".  I'm pretty happy with how it's working so far.  AND I use so little of the products, I'm shocked.  The face wash is half a pump, the eye cream is the size of a pinhead, etc.

No, I thought of that.  Even the 2 day prime takes 4 days here. They live in a small town off the lake.  I only have 29% left too! Wah.  I don’t need a charger when I work from home because I plug it into a large monitor that charges it. I’m going to have to make a designated “travel laptop bag” when I get home and throw it in there.

DS2 and I worked out this morning at the Y. H is fighting a cold. DD and her family were to come down this morning but one of the twins was sick so they waited to see how he was feeling. He seems to be ok so they are on their way now. Should be here by late afternoon. This has been such an odd Christmas with not having everyone here. I guess I have to get use to a new normal. At least next year everyone will be here (or at least that is the plan). Hopefully everyone else stays healthy this week.

Vibes to everyone who has to work  

Christmas Eve and Day were wonderful.  Too much good food (no regrets), the kids had a ball (it may well have been the last year there’s still belief in Santa so I tried to soak that up), exH even shocked me and came over to take the kids out and visit with them for an hour. A definite big kid perk is their toys/wish list items get smaller.  There’s no “where on earth will I fit this play kitchen/doll house/dinosaur universe jungle/etc?” today. More expensive for sure 🤪, but smaller too. 

One of my younger cousins announced her pregnancy at Thanksgiving, and another did yesterday.  They’re each a child of my mom’s two youngest siblings, my aunt and uncle who are only 19 and 21 years older than me and always seemed youthful and energetic when I was a kid. I know their kids are now in the 26-32 yr old range. But I can’t believe they’ll be grandparents this summer.  In a very sweet way.  My youngest sister quietly shared yesterday that she’s pregnant too, but it’s super early and she’s not telling people yet. But Aunt Eileen is ready for another sweetie. It was just a happy couple days.

Christmas went well!  My biggest gripe was I put the meat in late and we ate later than I wanted but it was DELICIOUS!  Standing rib roasts are so easy.    We had a nice crowd and I was off Thursday and did clean up plus a dentist appointment and now I'm working a real job!

sounds good @banana468.  I don’t normally make new year’s resolutions but I am for 2025.  I want to cook more! I want to learn how to cook and maybe bake? But baking may not be the best choice since I live alone and don’t need sweets in the house.

I baked too much.  Cooking is less scientific than baking but there are a ton of things that you can use to make baking easier.  Get a kitchen scale and it will be your best friend!
