Farewell 2024

Wishing everyone a 2025 filled with health, joyful moments and peace (in spite of the election results).

Re: Farewell 2024

  • Going to the gym and taking it easy. No plans tonight but we got steaks and crab cakes for dinner after the kids are in bed!

    Happy New Years!!
  • no plans tonight, my family is still in town so probably will indulge a bit in some bubbly or something. Probably making tacos tonight and just hanging out. The weather is crappy and raining hard, cold and sunny tomorrow so hopefully will get outside a bit.

    Happy new year!
  • The computer systems are down for work, so I'm just messing around at home right now.  Every 15 minutes, I try to go log in again.  No big plans for this evening, which I'm fine with.  I'm ready to get back into the regular swing of things, honestly.  I keep trying to do laundry and having to tell myself, IT'S TUESDAY NOT FRIDAY.
  • Happy (almost) New Year!  I hope 2025 is an amazing one for all of us.  For me, I hope this will be the year I figure out my life plan going forward.  I mean that in a positive way.

@Casadena, I'm having champagne and tacos tonight also, lol.

My H and I aren't doing anything tonight.  I'm admittedly a NYE Grinch, lol.  This is a dangerous city for New Years.  It's a party night in a party town and the Sugar Bowl is tomorrow.  Too many drunk drivers and people shooting guns in the air at midnight.

I'm going to leave work a couple hours early today (maybe).  I'm annoyed to even be here, lol.  But I did treat myself to a Wendy's breakfast this morning.

  • We are also NyE grinches. We are going out to dinner, but at 5 so we can be home and in pjs by 8 lol. We don’t have a lot of plans either way for today or tomorrow. H got picked for jury duty so he has that on Thursday and I’m annoyed because out of all of the times, it’s on the days I have off from work. Otherwise SSDD.

Grateful to all of you! Hoping 2025 brings everyone peace, happiness, and health!

2024 can suck it! The last few months of it anyway. Lol.  The first part was great.  I hope 2025 is good all year round.
Oh, another question I asked the fake tarot card reader, “I didn’t get to travel much this year (lies), what does 2025 have in store for me as far as travel?”
”you won’t travel at the beginning of the year. I see April or maybe May with this new guy coming into the picture”.
Oh really, lady, because I have 3 trips planned. January, February, March.  Granted one is for work, but I still consider it travel.
I’m all packed up for the hotel, bringing my clothes and face with me to get ready and refreshed there! The jeans I purchased for tonight won’t come till Thursday and I didn’t like my two amazon options for tops, so I closet shopped and wearing stuff I have already.  I’m opposite of a NYE grinch.  I like to buy new outfits and everything!

  • @CharmedPam, earlier today I was thinking that being on a cruise ship for NYE would be awesome!  Safely on a ship with no need to drive or other cars around.  Whatever "free" drinks I want because I always get the package.  People dressed to the nines...or not, so whatever you feel like wearing.

What better to do on a slow, boring work day than tentatively plan my 2025-2026 NYE cruise?  Yeeessss!  Some good choices that are not a fortune.

Apparently Celebrity has discounts for Louisiana residents.  Weird.  That's the only "where you live" discount for any of the cruise lines and why us?  I think Celebrity is newish to the New Orleans port.  Maybe that's it.

With my resident discount, I could go on a 12-night Asian cruise in March for only $1244/person.  What?!?!  Singapore/Ho Chi Minh City/Hong Kong/Tokyo.  That would be amazing.

  • Happy New Year! No plans for this evening. We are still cleaning out leftovers from when the family was here so ham, mashed potatoes and green beans for dinner. We also had leftover dessert - a tiramisu like recipe from Lidia Bastianichi. We are almost done with the leftovers thank goodness. Tomorrow I want to start cleaning out stuff. Hopefully I can talk H into us doing the storage part of the basement.
