Vibes on all the work bs @levioosa, I hate that you're stressed in advance and hope you can find something else, really soon.

Still dealing with AF side effects.  In addition to a headache I also have cramps this time around which I hadn't dealt with in years, ugh.
  • Oof, back to the grind this week and getting out of the house the last 2 days has been nuts. Kids have been sleeping in a bit and it's caused some chaos.

Still catching up on everything from the last week, but hope everyone is doing well and getting back into the post-holiday routine.
  • I was supposed to go for an allergy shot this morning, but I just couldn't convince myself to go outside in 11 degree weather.  I'm going to see if I can R/S this week in the afternoons so it's a wee bit warmer.

I'm pretty sure I pinched my occipital nerve when I slept wrong a few weeks ago.  It's slowly getting better, but I have been wearing an arm sling as much as I can to take the pressure off of it.  Harley is being a bit of a pill and I went to squirt her with the water bottle.  Caught my foot in computer cords and down I went because I didn't have any hands to catch myself with.  So now my entire body hurts.  I'm seriously considering working a half day and just taking a hot bath and going back to bed.

    Otherwise, SSDD.
  • I'm watching the little snow we had yesterday whip through the air in the wind.  It is COLD with my watch telling me it's 28 degrees outside.   We're in the thick of longer days with Chiquita starting rehearsals today AND has fencing practice so she'll be at school from about 7ish this morning until 7 tonight.

Last night Chiquito decided to pull a pretty middle school response to me that he was NOT going to get ready for bed and none of the other kids go to bed so early so today he will be tablet-free.   They're so cute until they're mouthy!!

  • I know I can't complain as much as most of you all, but I hate how cold it is also.  I don't have central heat at my house.  I WFH yesterday and my little kinda office set-up is in my bedroom.  I have a gas heater on the wall for heat which isn't too shabby for keeping the room warm, but that is also the only room in the house with old, single pane windows.  I had the heat full on and dressed warmly, but it was still too cold.

This is how rude the Sunday to Monday transition was.  We were actually having unusual heat for this time of year.  The high on Sunday was 75 with a low of 38 that hit overnight!  Nothing like an almost 40-degree swing in one day, lmao.

I hate this about my job.  Sometimes I go from being crazy busy to NOTHING.  My preference is somewhere in the middle.  I am in "nothing" mode right now and don't see that being different any time soon.

  • We were also having unusual heat with it getting up to 85 over the weekend but then 38-40 at night. I hate it. Today it is cold and very windy and even snowed in the mountains a little. Obviously nothing compared to all of you getting snow and storms, but it is rough having a 40+ point swing in a day.

@casadena sleep schedules are the worst. I'm an adult and I can't even control my own. lol. I'm paying for the week off I had and reverting quickly to my natural circadian rhythm of going to bed at 2-3 and waking up at 10:00. Nope, that's not real life and today I cried a little when I woke up at six.

@banana468 one time my brother refused to get ready for school in the morning. My mom told him that his punishment would be to go to class in his PJs because people would be embarrassed (and thereby he would be embarrassed) he didn't get ready for school. Well that backfired because he was quite the little ladies man and all of the girls in his classroom thought it was soooo cute and fun and then they collectively lobbied and got the teacher to host a "PJ Day" where everyone came to school in their PJs. It's been like 30 years and I still think it's hilarious.

Morning was okay. I have a feeling the afternoon is going to be insane however. I'm slogging through my in basket in spare moments. There was an interesting schedule development, and I'm processing it. Bummer is everyone was on vacation so I can't even gossip to try and figure out what happened because none of us were here.

  • @levioosa he loves his sweatpants!  He's awake at 7 with no problem but he's also had two recent viruses that hit him with fevers both just before Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas.  And now we're in Norovirus season.  In a school it's always a time that something is going around but I'm not going to encourage a lower amount of sleep and blue light exposure all because he likes it.

So I think we'll start to encourage more post-dinner games or reading rather than screen time.
  • May the force/Lord/whatever universal power you believe in, be with all of us, and especially the ones with children in daycare and school. This norovirus that has been going around has been awful. Usually it's pretty self limiting but it's been hitting people for weeks.

It is FREEZING! Make it stop! I hate it. Yesterday, at work, we all talked about how we all bought space heaters for our homes. And these are nice homes. Not old ones like
I have! I even bought heated socks. i hate things in my feet when I’m at home.
LOL @leviosaa, do you think your brother started the pajama day revolution at schools?

My mom took some pictures of me over Christmas, and holy posture issues! Plus, I am more aware of a slouched posture, even when walking. These have been on my feed for a bit, so I decided to grab one on amazon.
I can’t vouch for my posture yet, it’s only been a few days but my hips must have been aligned after only 15 minutes of using it! They hurt the next day!

  • @CharmedPam I have one of those and totally forgot.  It did help when I was using it, I need to start again.

Are you me?  Just without humidity.  LMAO.

Even on a Fri. or Sat. night, I have to be careful I don't stay up extra late just because I don't feel that tired and can.

I LOATHE it.  Years ago it hit the kids and me so hard and it was when they were too young to aim.   Now that they're older I'm drilling into them the need to wash hands and may be lysoling my doorknobs soon.

We have an infamous and hilarious family trauma bonding event centered around Norovirus from Thanksgiving 2013 and it's one of those stories you can't really tell a stranger, but when we talk about it together we're literally crying laughing over ten years later because it was so awful. I was the only person in the entire house (out of 9 people at the time) who did not get it because I refused to cook at the house, I sanitized every surface before I touched it, washed my hands like it was going out of style and I wore a mask. I can definitely vouch for the power of sanitation. lol.
