My period started yesterday and I'm just groggy.  I think I have finally made peace with the fact that my late 30s/early 40s annoyance is that my PMS symptoms last 5-6 days, instead of 2-3 like they used to.

Weekend was nice though, just a good mix of got all my to-do list stuff done but also had down time.  I made a couple of reservations for our next trip into the city, casually booking things on 3/15.  Hit me this morning that the day could very well be a sea of drunken green.  My sweet Gen Z coworker who is my touchstone of cool/fun things did confirm that there are a handful of St. Patrick's Day crawls and events, some in midtown where we'll be, but that the earliest were starting around noon, and we should be leaving the city by 12-1, so I think I leave things as is.

We were in Midtown on St. Patricks day a few years ago and as long as we were outside the parade route, it was actually a phenomenal weekend to be in the city because so few people were there doing shows/shopping/other touristy things. Have fun!

Bedtime was a nightmare the last 2 days. I do not understand what is happening and why this is such a struggle. We'll figure it out i'm sure, but omg.

OVerall weekend was fun. H and I had a few tiffs and it's irritating. But Saturday the boys started gymnastics and N seemed to like it, then we went out for ice cream to celebrate how brave they were (G was terrified to do stuff, and eventually started participating!). Sunday was haircuts, lunch out and the park. Both boys look like they're about 15 which i am NOT ready for, lol.

Tired again today, i just feel like i cannot catch up. I'm sure G's batrhoom trip (that he woke me up for) and N's 2 accidents last night didn't help.

Work *should be* medium busy this week so just trying to plow through.
  • Weekend was good, and quiet, which we needed! Both boys start swim again next week so we had a nice easy weekend.

I got my updated Covid and flu shots yesterday and now today I’m feeling it. I know it’s better than the flu or Covid but my arm hurts and I’m cranky!

Saturday was the individual fencing competition in the state.  And because Chiquita is a novice and they weren't sure if she'd get in I had to drive her - which meant about 4 hours in the car (1 hour each way).  It was long enough that I got housework done  and in the interim despite the need to drive I kind of like that it got me out of the house to be alone.

Sunday we turned down doing an event w/ the local group MIL and FIL are in to get more things done in the house.  It was literally the only day for weeks that  Chiquita didn't have anything going on and she had a decent project to work on for an upcoming trip so we needed to get into stuff.

Then vented briefly to DH about the overall state of the world and did my gut check of "We both think this is awful right?" and then went on with our day.

We got home from Chicago around 2:00 this afternoon. The music show was cute. We had a good weekend with the boys and now we rest up for a few days. Thursday we will go to Dayton to celebrate DS2's birthday and at least see the house from the outside. I leave next Monday for Florida. I have decided to come home a day early so we can go on Sunday to help DS2 clean and move some stuff into the house. He is planning on moving the big stuff the next weekend but we will be in SC.
  • Sounds like a fun day @VarunaTT!
and fingers crossed for all these opportunities @mrsconn23
