DS broke his wrist in gym class on Friday morning. He’s thankfully not in too much pain (and it was his non dominant hand so he’s still able to do a lot of the basics), but we adjusted our weekend a bit. Is it wrong that the biggest thing that stood out for me was that it happened at school, aka exH couldn’t blame me? He’s of course furious with the school, claims he’s suing the district + the gym teacher, etc…he just needs to place blame no matter what has happened. But it’s not my fault woohoo

Pajama day at school and it’s nice. Kind of a wild week at work, so just trying to coast through.
  • Oh poor kiddo!  And for the X--I guess this is at least a new direction for him?   Is the school familiar with how he is?  I'm guessing they will be even if it's a short time.

Had a quietish weekend.  Chiquita was at a Girl Scout conference in RI which she LOVED.  She came home and was a chatterbox for a solid 25 minutes showing me all the stuff she got, the swaps (each girl can make a small pin you can put on your vest that is representative of her troop. Some girls from northern states had swaps with mini maple syrups!) .  I wound up being the sub cantor for the Saturday vigil masses and met the new music director which was nice.

Sunday Chiquita came home and we did dinner and a movie and showed the kids The Sound of Music.  The movie holds up and hopefully it's now not foreshadowing.   No one was tired so it took us all a while to fall asleep but the kids have no school as a "snowflake day" - basically this was a place holder and if we had more snow days - it would have been a school day but luckily it's not.  Now Chiquita is sleeping , I got a mini workout in and I'm at my desk.
  • We had a trash weekend. I was supposed to see The Wiz on Friday but baby J slipped, hit his head and it split open so he had to get checked out. He’s okay but it was scary. Then yesterday M tested positive for Flu A. Excellent. So excellent.

At least we have OTC flu tests and his pediatrician called in tamiflu last night for him and baby J so yah. Things are great.

Oh jeez I’m sorry about baby J’s fall @charlotte989875, it’s one thing after another for you guys 😣

Yay for a fun GS weekend @banana468 and Turks & Caicos @CharmedPam and haha I have a lot of words in my head for him too!  Banana I tipped off the school SW who knows the kids (and exH’s ways) well and she said she’d let the appropriate people know.

Sounds like they'll be prepared for him.  I feel like most schools have had plenty of experience with parental issues and are equipped to handle shenanigans.
  • That's a lot going on @levioosa and your poor grandmother is probably going through stages of grief all over the place.  You have the patience of saints and I hope that's something you're processing.  Many people do not have the cognition you do about what's going on physically and emotionally.  Looking back I think of my own grandmother's passing 10 years ago and how my mom and her older sister had two very different approaches which didn't work.
  • @ei34 i'm glad your son is doing ok and EXH's anger is not directed at you
@charlotte989875 sending all the things - you guys need a break for sure
@levioosa hope your grandparents enjoy seeing your cousin and things stay peaceful for a bit
  • weekend was good. Saturday was neice's 3rd bday party most of the day, yesterday worked out then met IL's for brunch and they came over most of the day. Early dinner and attempted early bed time (lol). Everyone slept til 7 today but boys were great about getting ready and out the door by 7:45.
