Weekend was busy and great. IL's babysat Friday night and we went into the city to have dinner with a couple of my college friends. Saturday morning I worked out, H took G to a bday party, both boys had gymnastics, then we had a babysitter come in the afternoon while H and I ran a couple errands and had a late lunch together. Yesterday I took the boys for a donut/park/target/different park/lunch date while H did some job applications.

He is so done with his job im' a bit worried i'm going to come home from work at some point to him having quit. I know he's looking, he is just so burned out.

That would be tough @Casadena, hopefully he can hold on until another job opportunity comes by.
I had the best weekend! It was my impromptu paranormal conference. I grabbed a friend I thought would like it and she did! They kept us busy every minute of the day. Something happened even at check in when we went to
our room and heard a scream/yell coming from the room across from us. 30 seconds later a couple comes in to check in (first time entering, only them) and we’re like “wait.. no one’s in there?”
We teamed up with another group and had a blast during the hotel investigation. One “spot” was the third floor hallway because it’s said to be the most haunted floor, so we’re sitting around asking questions to the ghosts and we all hear moans.  Human moans. Not ghostly. The people in room 318 decided to have seggs while a bunch of ghost investigators were sitting outside their door (which is an odd place for an organized investigation spot).  We bonded quickly over that and exchanged info with the girls and we’re going to keep in touch for future conferences/investigations.  So we checked in at 4 on Friday, was busy with the conference from 5 pm to 2:20 a.m. in bed at 3 am. Up at 7:30 Saturday for the presentations to start at 8:30 am - 6 pm. Then did our own thing/had dinner till 10 - had ANOTHER investigation from 10 pm - 2 am.  You can cram a lot into a weekend (if you don’t sleep). It was a fab weekend with good lectures, “Some” activity (both from the living and dead) but most importantly new friends made!
edit; I hope I didn’t out any knotter who stayed in room 318 at the Desoto Hotel this weekend….

  • It's rainy here too, but supposed to clear off soon. Weekend here was good. We went to a game, did a short hike until the storm made us end early, and found a meadery. I think I'd tried mead at a ren fest or a beer event once before, but apparently there's a whole other world that I didn't know about.

I'm hoping to be a bit more productive this week. H finally talked me into replacing our tv, which obviously means we need to paint and rearrange the room. We have nothing going on easter weekend, so we need to pick paint colors and get a plan for everything else if we're going to get it done then.
  • It rained all weekend so it’s finally sunny here! A little chilly but I’ll take it. Weekend was good- H was fishing so we hung out with SIL and the cousins. Then did indoor playground yesterday instead of swim. I just couldn’t manage two lessons alone.

It was a relaxing weekend.  I really didn't do too much except read, watch the F1 race, and build a new Lego Ferrari (I'm missing pieces and while I enjoyed it, it was a big learning process and I might take it apart and redo it).  Did all my regular household stuffs.  A friend that I haven't seen in person for a long time, came over last night and we watched the first two episodes of Dexter: Original Sin.  I like it enough to keep watching, but not sure what I think about it yet.  Friend feels the same.  The actors they got for Batista and Masuka are incredible look alikes and have the vocal/physical mannerisms of their older counterparts down cold.

I think I shared on here that last week, I had a quarrel with a friend that she escalated so badly, I told her I was taking a break, told her I was blocking her on everything so she can't have access to me, and that I would reach out when I was ready.  I gave myself a deadline of one full week of sitting in my emotions/discomfort before I would "check-in" with myself to see if I was ready to reach out to her.  Well, these last few days of not having to speak with her/support her through all she's going through/deal with her mental neuroses, has felt really nice and peaceful.  I was definitely overstretching myself for her, even though I thought I was on the lookout for that.  I'm not sure what that means, but I'm pretty sure that on my week check-in, I still won't be ready to reach out.  I also think I need to have a plan on how to walk the line of support vs. keeping myself peaceful and I'm really unsure of what that looks like or how to do it.

@levioosa, I started using Thorne products for my supplements/vitamins based on something you said here awhile ago.  They are definitely a different price tier, but I honestly do think they're working a lot better than the brand I was using.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge/opinion on that.
  • The weekend was very low-key. On Saturday, we both just begged  out and watched TV, and we both took naps on and off. I think we really needed the downtime. On Sunday, I showered and got laundry done, but otherwise, it was just reading, TV, and kitty cuddle time.

We had tickets to see Amy Grant in concert on Saturday. Since I had insurance on them, I will work through the process to get a refund.

DH is very low energy today. We are going in for a blood test this afternoon and I predict his creatinine will not have changed. It's scary to think he may need dialysis.

We have some house stuff this week—plumbing and AC seasonal check, exterminator. On Friday night, the cat was not finishing her dinner kibble, and as I looked closer, it was covered in tiny black ants. ICK! We had the same issue last spring. There was an ant trail to the baseboard and under it. I cleaned her bowl, refilled it, and moved it to another area of the kitchen.

I have some tulips popping up in the back that I planted last fall. I need to take a walk around the side of the house to see if there is anything up over there.

  • We got home late Saturday night. It was the longest drive back ever -14.5 hours. We took a detour to avoid the I-40 construction traffic between Asheville and Knoxville and there was an accident or something that closed the road for an hour. That along with rain from Lexington (3 hours) slowed us down. It usually takes us about 12 hours. H came home with a really bad cold. He sounds like he is coughing up a lung. His colds usually settle in his chest and he has an inhaler to use as needed. However, I think he needs to see the doctor. DD concurred but isn't too worried since he hasn't had a fever.

Yesterday we unpacked everything and I did  2 loads of laundry. There is a washer and dryer in the cottage but no place to hang things to dry so I had that to do. Today I went to spin class and collected packages from our neighbor. I finished watching Yellowstone 1923. I like it so much but it looks like there isn't another season based on the way it ended. I still haven't watched the most recent season on Yellowstone. That is what I will work on next.  Tomorrow I have a stretch session which I desperately need. I always get so tight when we travel long distances.

@ei34 sorry ex-H was terrible to kids. They will remember all of this I'm sure. Happy Belated birthday @banana468. My birthday is Friday. I'm going out to lunch with friends on Thursday. Friday H and I are going out to dinner.
  • @CharmedPam, that sounds like such a fun weekend!

@MNNEBride, I hope your DH's kidney health has improved and he can avoid dialysis.  You already have so much on your plate.

@MyNameIsNot, I'd move on getting a new tv sooner rather than later.  I feel this is a product whose prices will be especially affected by tariffs.  The US hasn't manufactured tv sets since 1995, other than specialty waterproof outdoor ones.  Now we just assemble them from imported parts.

It was! Remember how I asked what group a LW joined to meet people in a Prudie letter on Thursday and many people brought up run club? I didn’t even have to join a run club to make new friends!
@MNNEBride, hope the blood test produces positive results
