Happy belated birthday @banana468!

Pretty ssdd at work.  The DDs have their county championship swim meet this evening- it'll be a long, late night, but I am excited on their behalf (and glad that the competitive swim season ends tonight as well...next swim team isn't until summer and it's the laid back town pool one).  Just going through the motions otherwise.

Busy busy work day - trying to finish up as much as i can before i'm traveling the next 3 days. Looking forward to the trip (and surprisingly it should be ~15 degrees warmer in Western Canada than Chicago) but dislike all the prep. 

Leaving a bit early to take the boys to therapy dogs and a therapy appt for G, snacky quick dinner and then i need to finish packing after bedtime. luckily no meetings Friday morning, so i can be casual and just work all morning before heading to the airport.

I had a nice and relaxing weekend.  Didn't do anything except check e-mails for my WFH day yesterday.  That was great also.  But I've hardly gotten any sleep for the last two days because I can't seem to fall asleep until around 4am.

Vent:
I cannot stand the guy I'm forced to have a cube next to.  He was the one I trained to help me with my work, when I had an overload.  But I haven't needed his help in 5 months, which our boss knows.  This guy has had an office or cube in the other building for 10 years.  Why doesn't he go back to it, ffs?!?  It sucks SO much that just because I needed his help for a few months, now I'm indefinitely stuck with his constant noise.  Ice chewing and rattling it in his cup.  When he's not doing that, he's loudly slurping Coke.

I never used to wear headphones and listen to music all day, but now I have to when I'm in the office or I'll be driven into madness.  But the music only makes it more manageable, it doesn't completely drown it out.

My H and I needed to put our heaters back on yesterday morning.  We haven't needed them in at least a month.

Not as bad as snow!  But extremely unusual for April.

This weather is whack and I want it gone. Plus, our office is like 50 degrees. Maybe not really 50, but it feels like it. I hate being cold. 

@short+sassy, the girl who sits next to me is annoying. She chews gum with her mouth open, has a quiet moan every time she exhales and ironically enough, her travel treadmill is the least annoying thing about her.
Have fun on your trip @Casadena. Usually the Western part of NA isn’t too too bad. One year we were in San Diego for work (February) and it was warmer in Chicago than SD.
Today is wfh and laundry, making lunch, making dinner, still tiding up from my unpacking and gym time. I made a homechef meal, which was family style shepherds pie and I could have sworn shepherds pie bakes with cheese sprinkled on it.  Maybe just our family? Or maybe homechef left it out because adding the cheese would have made it premium. I had cheese to add. Cheese goes with any dish anyway.
Sunday and yesterday my neighbors moved out. Yes! They were pretty loud in the summer. However, they left an eyesore pile of garbage on the curb and if it’s not tagged and bagged (which many items weren’t) I don’t think the garbage company will pick it up.  So it may sit there after tomorrow’s pick up until the city gets involved.  Ugh. Literally right next to me.

I don't have too much going on.  Going to Mom's for dinner tonight.  I was supposed to pack my books last night, but a friend called and wanted to go play pool.  That sounded more fun, so I did that. 

I also was finally able to get all of my preferred hair brand products and my hair felt like it was drinking the conditioner.  I do love my curls, but lordt, they always need hydration.  I also got their scalp exfoliator and the massager to help with some of my ingrown hairs.  It felt soooo good on my head, I might get their scalp serum too. 

I also splurged and got the hair dryer from them (LUS Brands).  I've needed a new hair dryer for a few years now.  I wanted to get a nice one, but the prices of the nice ones have made me flinch.  So that was my gift to myself from my bonus.  The diffuser is huge, nearly the size of the side of my head.  It made diffusing SO easy.  My hair was HUGE after all of the new products and the new diffuser, I had to tame it down with some gel.  The curls are still growing into their first "season" as my hairdresser says (Basically the hair has to grow into the curls and so you'll have a point where they all just look like demon horns for a bit b/c the curl isn't complete), so my hair is just BIG right now.  I was cracking up, I felt like a Golden Girl, but with no setting.

It was 30 when I woke up and the high is 60, so it's that time in Missouri.  I'm either hot or cold all the time, so layers it is.  Good luck at the swim meet @ei34 and safe travels @Casadena.

DH had blood work yesterday, and the results came back at about 5:30 PM on the patient portal.  His nephrologist called at 5:35 to discuss.  She recommended going to the ED to have his heart checked and perhaps to get fluids if he was dehydrated.  His creatinine (Kidney Function) was 4.22 - way too high.  

I packed up my work backpack with a few things (charging cables, work laptop, extra fleece, etc), and we arrived at the ED about 6 PM.  They were packed.  Forty patients waiting and about 50 in treatment per their status board.  After he was registered, they took him back for labs and later for a chest X-ray.  We were roomed at about 10:15 PM.  His creatinine went down with the first test at the hospital.  They did an ECG, which was normal for him.  Gave him fluids and supplemented his potassium and magnesium.  Also took urine.  They suspected a UTI, so they put him on 10 days of antibiotics.  They also tested for C-diff, as he's had symptoms for about 2 weeks.  He was discharged about 3:30 AM and we were home by 4.  Yawn.  We are both exhausted today but he feels good and had PT this morning.

I have a haircut tonight and I'm sure we'll crash early.

It is FROSTY here!  I'm absolutely beat but hooray!  No polyps found today in my first colonoscopy.

Woohoo! Congrats @banana468. Just curious. Did they say come back in 5 years or 10? I have always heard 5 but the other day my boss got hers done with no polyps and was told 10?

I'm on the 10 year plan.  I thought it would be 5 too but I guess it's now 10?  She did say if I have any symptoms to let her know so I'll keep an eye on things.

It was cute since Chiquita was giving me a hug and telling me how she knew I'd be OK when she's gone through this before me!

Regular screening is every 10 years. If you have family history or polyps removed they do repeat varying from 3-7 years depending on the path results. Usually it is around 5 years. Rarely they might suggest colonoscopy annually. That’s usually reserved for special cases (ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s, a shit ton of polyp removal during last colonoscopy, or for a genetic reason. Oh and if your prep sucked you might get saddled with a repeat colonoscopy in a year).
