Wedding Woes

Tuesday

I couldn't think of a catchy Tuesday alliteration. What's up for everyone today?

Re: Tuesday

  • I just started my first period after being on all these supplements and a new BC pill for a full month. The last 6-12 months, the rage/anger/anxiety/depression has been crushing for about a week leading up to the period, but seems to have waned quite a lot this month. I still notice that i'm more crabby than usual, but it's normal crabby and hasn't last more than a couple days. So fingers crossed I continue to do well with these small changes over the next couple months.

We decided to take the boys to Denver over memorial Day weekend to visit H's college best friend and his wife, very excited for that!

The next month or two seem very busy. Lots of appointments, activity, playdates, etc. All good stuff, just a lot of coordination!

  • Good Morning!
We both had blood draws this morning and were out and about early.  I topped for coffee, which is always a treat, rather than making it at home.

My brother is coming this afternoon to stain our small deck. It'll be nice to have that done as the weather is getting nicer. DH has PT at home this morning, and I'm catching up with a few things work-wise. I have our townhome association meeting tonight. It's just up the street, and it will only be about 45 minutes long, so DH can stay by himself.

@short+sassy - We arrive in NO on 4/23 about noon.  We'll have the rest of Wednesday and Thursday daytime to explore.  The conference is booked pretty solid Friday-Sunday and we fly home Monday morning.  There is an after party Friday night at the bar under the Orpheum Theater that sounds fun.  I've been to several conferences in NO but my colleague has never visited the city so we'll hit the highlights.  Please share your insider recommendations!

  • After my “90 day diaries” aired, my streaming device automatically went to paw patrol and I’m too lazy to find something else, so it’s my emotional support background noise as I scroll my phone.  That’s where I’m at right now.
I need to get my sleep under control. My mind races. It’s like it won’t shut off. Even as I was SUPER tired yesterday I remembered I’m seeing my friend tomorrow and told her I would give her my Curvlife shorts I accidentally ordered so at like 12:30 I woke up to dig those out of my drawer so I could bring them to her. It’s stuff like that.
@levioosa I’ve been wearing becca’s color corrector dupe by carice the last few days and noticed it helping.  But I hate the pot it comes in. Becca has it too, so I bought dtrmly’s corrector wand i’ve been seeing ads for. I hope it works. People post good reviews on it but I often wonder if they’re fake profiles. Amazon’s reviews aren’t that highly praised.

  • Jury duty today. I have never had jury duty so much as I have in this county. I get summoned every year and most of the time I actually have to go on. Poor H got federal and state jury duty last year.

    Happy belated birthday! @ILoveBeachMusic

Weekend was mostly good. Went to my grandparents on Saturday and then to dinner with a friend. On Sunday I had a certification in the morning then I hit the gym. I finally made it to our local book store. The books this month for their book club didn’t really appeal to me but I’m going to keep an eye out for the future.

Not too much else is going on right now. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

  • I was so busy yesterday, I never logged in.  It's a bit of a mess right now; they put a new procedure in place and made it retroactive.  I'm working through it, but I'm having to manage anxious feelings about it (b/c it looks like I have around 35+ outstanding tasks, but 21 of them are this retroactive thing).  Our virtual machines were sooooooooooo sllllllooooooooowwwww this morning, I feel like I almost didn't accomplish a thing.

Not too much going on.  I kinda want to go out this evening, so I might reach out and see if anyone wants to go out to dinner.  I'm still dealing with a lot of emotions right now, so my food has been off, but I'm not using alcohol or spending $$ as coping, so I'm trying to see it all as a win.  I'd like to get food back on track though, it makes me feel like poo when I'm not eating healthy like usual.

Also, the F1 race this weekend was an absolute banger of a race.  If they're all going to be like this, this season, it's going to be amazing.
  • Mostly SSDD.

DH has been parking in a lot that is supposed to be reserved for a different tier of workers at his company but it's rarely full and he's been snagging a space that's trickier to get to.  Well, yesterday with the onset of spring break he got towed.  And then to add insult to it, despite the ordinance saying tow companies need to be open til 5 the one that towed him closed at 4:30 and the windows were darkened.  He got a ride home yesterday and I drove him in today and he's made calls to do what he can to get the overnight fee waived.    He isn't confrontational but he's pedantic when it's crap like this.

Kiddos are home and Chiquita has started to feel better but still with a residual headache.  She's made big strides cleaning her dresser and now needs to keep it up.  It previously looked like she was a hoarder.  She came down today and started to freak that she saw ants in her closet.  I told DH that if her room is clean at the end of this we'll need to borrow ants every time her room is dirty.
