Wedding Woes

Wednesday?

If you had asked me, I would've sworn it was Tuesday.  Sometimes, there are some issues with WFH.

Nothing big going on today.  Just grinding at work.  I kinda want to go see a movie or out to dinner, but I also want someone else to plan it and just invite me.  I have nothing to chat about, but we needed a Wednesday post.  Maybe that's everyone's issue?

Re: Wednesday?

  • Busy day at our house this morning.  DH has an OT visit here and the cleaning person is finishing up.  I'm listening to a seminar for work and cleaning up my desk.

I'm hosting my family for Easter dinner Sunday.  I have my to-do list so I don't forget anything.  Also need to put together some instructions for using our appliances for my Mom - dishwasher, mic, oven, laundry.  I have a list of meals available for her to fix while I'm gone.  Need to connect with the cat sitter who will come in once a day to scoop litter and set up food.  It's a lot of work to get things ready for me to be away!

  • I think I overdid it yesterday. I had jury duty but luckily was released around noon. Then I went to the gym for a few hours, cleaned the house and then meal prepped which took forever because I was bougie about some stuff. I am so excited about the food but I think it was too much for me.

Otherwise SSDD. I need to drink some coffee.

  • Work is BUSY, but good busy. Sunny and chilly outside today, my fave. Excited for the weekend, even though it will be rainy and cold. Looking forward to cooking/baking a bit and taking the boys to IL's for easter on Sunday. G has kindergarten preview night in a couple weeks and I am in disbelief that he is old enough to be in school and that I am old enough to have a school age child (I'm 37, this should not be surprising to me).

Starting to also confront the reality of enrollment in catechism classes for G which is spurring lots of discussions on religion as a whole, how we feel about it, Catholicism, etc etc. Will a THING if we don't have our kiddos go through the sacraments, but obviously we need to make the decision we're comfortable with - we just aren't sure what that is 100%.
  • @Casadena that's a really personal decision. It wasn't a question for us but I can definitely "get" that others ponder what the right choice is.
  • Busy bee here too. Went into the city for work related schtuff and back now. After work I’m headed out to trivia to not help my team win lol.
Weekend is so low key. I keep checking meetup for Saturday events and nothing is posted. Probably because it’s Easter weekend.  Don’t make me stay home alone! Pleeeeeease. I bore so easily.

  • Today is our anniversary - 42 years. We are still in Chicago. H grilled steaks and DD fixed delicious roasted potatoes with an aioli sauce and green beans. We're finishing off H's birthday cheesecake. We have the boys tomorrow since DD is working and the nanny is on vacation (the reason we are up here for so long).  Tomorrow night we have a dinner downtown with a alumni group from H's undergraduate school. He is on the board of trustees so it worked out nicely that we are here for that event. Friday night we (H, DD and I) are going to see Moulin Rouge. It is our Christmas present from them. Easter we will be going to a Lutheran Church here then DD's in laws are coming over for dinner. Monday will be our final day of boy duty then we head home. I'll have 24 hours to get ready for my girls' trip to Austin.
