I had a stomach issue from 1-3am and am tired now, although the queasiness is mostly gone.  I did pull a win for myself, DS has a cub scout hike later that I was dreading, but one of his leaders mentioned in the group text that she'll have her minivan and has room for extra scouts if needed.  I side texted her asking if she had room and she said of course, and now DDs and I are quietly celebrating not having to go to Shu Swamp on the hottest day so far this season.  (Love the way girls scouts is the girls and the leaders off doing things...cub/boy scouts parents are at pretty much everything (and I get why - the boys act like feral animals when together).  So this is a really nice change of pace :)

@ei34 I know w/ Cub Scouts at least at camp outs there needs to be a guardian for the kids and I think there are few meetings that allow drop offs.  The way DH explained it I think it's possibly a Cub Scout rule.

W/ Girl Scouts, I think there's a ratio that needs to be maintained but it's not a requirement to have a parent.  Now that Chiquita is older to be a parent and attend off site meetings you need to be registered and background checked as a volunteer.  So when I've camped with her for overnights and chaperoned to DC I had to be registered.

Today is the first day I have everything set up in my office.  The move was a sh!tshow, honestly.  I didn't realize I had so much stuff, my mother was...not pleasant about this, we had an argument b/c I slapped a boundary down hard and fast and she didn't like it but did respect it, I miss my wide open apartment floor plan, and being alone.  It still doesn't feel real that I live here and I'm still having a lot of emotions about it.  I supposed next month when I don't have to pay rent and utilities and my bank account reflects that, I'll feel better.

I love my BFF so much.  We have a regular Sunday morning call b/c it works w/our schedules.  This past Sunday, he told me that he was my cheerleader, he always cheers for the winning team, he knew I'd be overthinking this, but for as long as he's known me I've always made not just the right choice, but the rightest choice, so work on peace again.  We had a conversation not too long ago where I told him the reason our friendship works and had lasted so long was he was my cheerleader which I am so weak in for myself and I give him space, permission and sometimes push, for him to be angry about something without trying to move past it immediately...something he is terrible at.  Anyway, it was what I needed to hear and lifted my spirits a bit.

On top of personal stuff, we've been going through a company wide software change and it's been a controlled sh!tshow as well.  It's starting to settle down.  I wish companies like Salesforce would stop getting play b/c they're not really  litigation management software, they're just adapted to litigation management and honestly, they suck.  There are actual litigation management programs out there, but they're rarely chosen.  I think it's a size issue, that they can't be scaled up to handle a corporation level of information, instead of an firm level.

Anyway, I'm alive, hale and mostly healthy.  I'll be catching up, but generally I hope everyone has been alright, kids are healthy and fun, and all the other good stuffs.

N had his first ever soccer practice last night and it was adorable. He looked SO cute participated/was interested in about half of it and then took pictures with my phone, had a snack, found a cool stick, and then rolled down a big hill and ran back up it 10 times becuase he was "too tired" to keep playing soccer. LOL. G will go next week too. He is feeling much better and back at school today!

Hoping for a chill Saturday. Possibly the zoo or the pool if it's warm enough on Saturday. Sunday we're going to a "godparents" mass and a pancake breakfast with BIL/SIL and fam. Then early dinner with friends and theme park night with the boys school.

I got so much stuff out of the house yesterday while i was home with G. Sold the boys old floor beds and high chairs, and gave away on buy nothing an entire box full of toys, etc that had been sitting in the laundry room for like 6 months. Feeling good to get some clutter out.

    Posting prudie shortly

  • @ei34 My nephew is 11 and just "graduated" from cub scouts to boy scouts this year. The difference is night and day with parent involvement. Before, my sister was doing scout stuff nearly every weekend. Now it's little more than transportation. It's actually really cool how even I can see that it's already teaching him to be more self-reliant and independent.

It's raining and cool here again, and I'm in a foul mood. I didn't sleep well at all but still had to get up extra early and I'm just no fun. Nothing much else going on. I'm ready for the weekend already, but I think it's going to rain all weekend too.
  • Eagle Scout and Girl Scout mom here. H and a friend were den leaders for cub scouts. The parents almost always dropped kid and left. There was very little the parents did in either Cub or Boy scouts except for pushing the ones who wanted to reach Eagle along. DD only did Girl Scouts through 5th grade. It was a co-op troop so moms took turns leading meetings after school. I did a lot more with that than I did with Boy/Cub Scouts. Maybe things have changed a lot in recent years.

Had my MRI on my back/hip today. The doctor should have the results in a couple of days so then to make an appointment for follow up. I haven't heard from either the pelvic floor therapist or the uro-gynecologist.  I'll wait until mid next week then contact my drs. office about it. We are going on vacation next Friday so would have liked to have had one therapy session.
