Prudie Day

How's everyone?  Heat finally broke here, it's in the breezy 70s thankfully (I'm such a baby with heat it was only three days in the 90s).  Happy almost Friday!

I am really sleepy today, but feeling better.  I went over to a friend's last night, watched 2 more episodes of The Pitt, vented, and got really damn high.  I was so relaxed by the end of the evening that I was able to sleep really well and really
hard, which is why I think I'm still dragging a bit.

One of the support groups called me back.  The one that said on their website, "The average age of a parental caregiver is 48, meaning they're still dealing with their own family and work".  So the meeting?  2nd Tuesday of the month at 3:00.  I almost screamed.  I'm going to try to find something online instead.

Otherwise, SSDD.  There is a memorial for a friend who died by suicide this weekend.  I'm going to go, but I'm going to have to keep an eye out too, b/c it's probably going to turn into an alcohol fueled event.
  • The heat finally broke here too. J seems to be feeling a bit better so fingers crossed the worst of it has passed.

I’m excited to watch Faith Kipyegon try and break 4 minutes in the mile today. I strategically blocked my calendar so no one schedules anything during the window. For reference it took me 22 minutes to run two miles with baby J in the stroller this morning 😂
  • Oh @VarunaTT my condolences for the loss of your friend.

And I share in the WTFery of a group who puts together times that are clearly only going to make the stressed more stressed!

Nope.  I'm burning out but would rather just snap at people vs. join a group who is so obtuse they don't realize the constraint that they have by creating a meeting in the middle of working hours.

I nearly snapped at a sales rep today who continued to push me that 'we have to have answers on this today' and also, all the details that I needed to GET The answers?  Received this morning.

I'm losing my patience dealing with customers who do not give complete information and expect me to know what they want.
  • Oh, I didn’t even compute the 3:00 time! Ummm no. And I’m sorry for your loss @VarunaTT
I thought 88 was a nice break in the heat. Your 70’s sound better, @ei34.

I love homechef, I really do. But I hate the food reheated. My meal was delicious yesterday, and today’s leftovers is just meh. This seems to be the norm with meals the next day. But I don’t know how else I’d get homemade fresh food in here because I don’t follow recipes or cook on my own. I just need a man to share the 2nd portion with, so there are no leftovers. Now, where am I going to find someone who wants their cooking done for them? Lol.

*hugs* @VarunaTT that’s so dumb that they even acknowledge the constraints but schedule at like the craziest time ever.

  • There's a place near me that features and sells prepared meals that are great to taste like homemade that are popped in the oven and ready fast.  They close at something like 5:30!  That isn't helping me - I'm still working!

But the meeting time in business hours is absurd especially if it's the ONLY one.
  • The in-person support groups around here meet during the day as well.  They aren't considering their audience.  I'm part of a couple of groups through Facebook.  One is called "Working Daughter" and the other is "LBD Caregivers Support Group".  There are lots of others as well, if you would find them helpful.

We had severe weather in the area yesterday.  Rain and wind here but nothing severe.  This afternoon, we had a tornado warning and are still under a severe thunderstorm warning.  DH, DH's friend, the cat and I were in our hall bathroom for about 30 mins as we don't have a basement.  Not something I thought I'd be doing this afternoon.
