How to ask guests not to wear white!

Hi,
Im seeing a lot of questions about how to ask guests not to wear white on your wedding day..
it should be common knowledge not to wear white.. however you still need to unfortunately say.. this is what i would write…

Please do not wear White to our wedding day,
It's the one rule we must convey.
For this is the colour of the Bride
and you don't want to be denied.

Re: How to ask guests not to wear white!

  • The only time dress code should be mentioned is if the event is Black Tie, White Tie, or the Venue has specific rules/requirements (No uncovered shoulders/No see-through fabrics/No Shorts/All guests must wear a collared shirt/etc. that they may have).  Or, if you have a sitting member of Congress or Head of State as a guest where there are very specific decorum rules for event etiquette (Look up "The Toothpick Rule" and it'll explain this deeper).
