Tuesday

Wishing all a smooth day!

Re: Tuesday

  • Schools are closed here today and tomorrow in observance of Rosh Shashanah (L’Shana Tova to any who celebrate).
The kids and I are waiting in a dermatology office right now, one of the DDs has a follow up appt. ExH is allegedly seeing the kids a bit later, im
going to get a Costco run in at that time.

This evening I’m seeing Just in Time on Broadway- I’m not super familiar with Bobby Darin but I adore Jonathan Groff, so I’m very excited.
  • Have fun at the show @ei34. I love musicals and recognize a lot of his music when I hear it. He was a heart throb before my time though.

Had training this morning. Nothing much else going on today. Laundry and the usual stuff. Tomorrow morning I have a follow up with the spine surgeon to talk about the last shot I had. The last time I met with him he said I could have a third shot before we leave for France. I hope that is still true.

Thursday I am going to stay with my friends grandson while she and her daughter make arrangements for her husband's celebration of life. Members of our book club are helping out with the baby so that the Mom can also get some work done too. She and her family (H and 2 kids) are living with my friend for a while. I think that will be good for my friend to keep her busy after all the visiting is done post memorial service. My heart breaks for my friend.
  • Walked into an emergency at work that was made worse by a co-worker.  It's annoying and I'm actually angry about the situation.

I have to go grocery shopping this evening.  I haven't had coffee for like a week and I'm tired of having to spend $ and time on picking it up.  Time to get back on track with meal planning and eating.

Otherwise, SSDD.  Not a lot going on really, just work and trying to continue to organize my new space.
  • I had a "slow" (number wise) morning that is going to take me forever to document. Insurance companies can eat a dick.

Otherwise, not too much happening here. Still haven't activated my new phone, oops. Probably should do that tonight.

Sending your friend and her family comforting thoughts @Ilovebeachmusic.

    Have fun! @ei34

  • Hi! Work is busier today than normal.

Weekend was ok. Concert was fun and defconn’s hoco was a success. Not a success? My hair appt (new stylist and the dye job was a fail that I had to fix at home), I smashed my thumb into a door frame and now the nail is below the quick, and DH left my sunroof open all night Saturday and it rained. My seats are still making me feel damp and my car smells like mildew/wet dog (and we don’t have a friggin dog). *sigh*

    SSDD otherwise

    @ei34, enjoy the musical!

@ILoveBeachMusic, I hope your doctor still allows a third shot before the big trip! My condolences to your friend and her family.

@levioosa, 95%+ of the time I would wholeheartedly agree with your opinion of insurance companies.  But I actually got good news the other day!  My insurance will cover either the Baqsimi emergency low blood sugar nasal spray or the Gvoke emergency glucagon kit (pens), with a $0 copay.  That's even if I haven't met my deductible for the year.  Yay!  I'm calling my doctor's office today to get a prescription for my Gvoke kit and also for a COVID shot.

I've been more motivated lately to get things done and I'm trying to keep perpetuating that feeling which sadly, does not happen often.

Over the weekend, I went completely through my closets.  Got rid of so many clothes.  But also found a few outfits that are hopefully worth selling.  As well as a few outfits that were super old and fit me again.  I also organized my already massive clothing donation pile.  It's packed up now and in my covered truck.

I've repeatedly gone through my 7' high bookshelf for the last year+ when my sizes changed.  I use it like an open dresser.  But it needs to be gone through one last time and I also need to organize it better so "like" things are with "like" things more consistently.  Plus now I have more room in my closets and might transfer some of those clothing groups to a closet.

I also went through a baker's rack which had a lot of perfume, make-up, hair accessories, and other odds and ends.  Found some things I think I can sell for $60 (total) on Ebay.  Got rid of a lot there also and now it's organized.  I need to find out if any places take donated perfumes.  Or I might try to sell them as a "lot" for $20.  Some of them are new, higher end perfumes where I just don't care for the scent.

But some of them are embarrassing, lol.  They're cheap ones from when I was a teeny bopper in the late 80s.  However, they probably haven't been made in years and maybe there are folks on Ebay who desperately miss them.  I should check!

    Edited to add:

Does anyone have recommendations on the best online places/apps to sell clothing?  Nothing is a high-end designer.  The majority are nice jacket/skirt sets for office-wear.  Pristine condition.  Most were rarely worn and some are NWT.
