Hump Day

Hope all are feeling healthy and have smooth work days!

Re: Hump Day

  • Just in Time was incredible.  This was the fourth show I’ve seen Jonathan in, he just gets better each time 😍

ExH did see the kids yesterday, but it was a 20min visit at Dunkin. So we’ll go to Costco today (waiting around til it opens at 10 to the non-VIP members lol). Might throw Trader Joe’s in too, but we’ll see.  The kids are on a bike ride now and I’m taking a break from a pantry reorganizination project.
  • That's great to know about Just In Time.  I am taking Chiquita and maybe two other people to see Cursed Child in December (Tom Felton swooning here) but I haven't seen a legit broadway show in 11 years in NYC (we saw Hamilton in Hartford and Spaamalot in New Haven).

Rainy day here and the evening is nuts so I think I'll absolve myself of guilt not going to Chiquita's soccer game tonight where she warms the bench in the September  dampness.

  • Back in May, I had told a friend I needed a break from our friendship.  At some point in August before everything with my mother happened, I had told her I was willing to talk through what had happened.  She just now reached out to schedule a time "if you still wanted to talk".  IDK what I want to do.  A big part of me is like, Just let this go.  But I'm not sure if that's productive Varuna or unproductive Varuna.  Our friendship had begun sliding to codependency and there had been a few things I was uncomfortable with re: boundaries, boundaries are what the argument was about, and I'm just not sure if this is all worth the time/effort.  I miss our friendship and her, and I'm still not comfortable with everything that happened.

Work is on fire right now and it's one specific person's fault.  I have been registering complaints about this person's work habits.  Now, those habits have created, at last count, 3 fires in 48 hours.  I'm just glad that our boss has had to step in to fix 2/3, so she can finally see what people have been telling her are the problems.  Maybe we'll get a change finally.

Otherwise, SSDD.  I did not go grocery shopping yesterday and still desperately need to go.
  • @banana468 ooh enjoy! Cursed Child is very high on our list
@VarunaTT I might hold off on a talk with that friend right now (unless reaching out was something you’d been meaning to do anyway). And ima sorry about all the work nonsense!
  • I had a flat tire when I got off work yesterday.  I limped my truck to a nearby Firestone, which is where I bought all the tires for my truck anyway.  They are walking distance to my work (less than half a mile), so really convenient.  And "limpable" because the tire was pretty flat and I didn't want to drive faster than 5mph or very far.

I always buy road hazard insurance.  Unfortunately, they said I need a new tire so the pro-rated amount is $34 and I okayed them to do an oil change for another $32.  Not too bad, but a lot of hassle.  I had to take an Uber home and rounded up my neighbor friend to give me a ride back down there when I get off work.  It's a WFH day, so I am at home.

She does trivia on Wednesdays and I've been meaning to join her for the longest time.  No time like the present!  So we are going to that after picking up my car.  At least my adult responsibilities will be rewarded with some fun.

  • Work has been chaos the last few weeks, but I’m starting to think that’s just how things are here. I don’t love it.

H had another interview today, fingers crossed and all the good vibes this one works out. It is at the same company I work at (in a totally different division but one I work with a lot) so that’ll be interesting if he gets an offer. There are a lot of spouses that work here so it’s not a problem it’ll just be different!

I'm sorry your job has become so chaotic.  I hope it gets better, even if that doesn't look promising right now.  Good luck to your H!
