I went to a local festival on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. It was free admission and they had good food and music. Folgers has a processing plant here. They had free coffee for people to enjoy at the festival and were also giving out goodie bags with beau coup different samples. Better schwag than usual from a lot of vendors. For food, I got "gumbo ramen". I'd never heard of it before, so I had to try it! It was basically ramen noodles, but with a gumbo broth. They also loaded it down with shrimp, two kinds of sausage, and chicken. Yummy!
Sunday/Monday were very disappointing days. My new glucose emergency kit pens apparently have some ridiculous temp requirement of keeping them between 68-77 degrees. I ordered a make-up fridge from Amazon that was supposed to have adjustable temperature control. It didn't. It can be hot or it can be cold, but it can't be in-between. Apparently such a thing doesn't exist for any kind of affordable price. I guess I'll do the best I can and hope it works if I need it. Just to piss me off further, I can't return it to Whole Foods like I normally do for Amazon. I had to print a UPS shipping label, re-package it, and drop it off somewhere that accepts UPS packages.
Monday, I found out I'm probably going to have to quit the gig job that I've been doing for 10+ years. It's just become too much work for the pay involved. I'm waiting to hear back from my scheduler regarding the latest change. Then when I got off work, I spent 2.5 hours running around doing returns at three different places. The UPS dropoff place I found that was thankfully near my house. I will need to keep them in mind, plus the employee who helped me was extra friendly. Then Whole Foods because I had other Amazon returns, and Walmart who is always a problem with returns.
