Minor FWP here in that a show I'm trying to get tickets for had a presale for members today at 10, but Ticketmaster just released an earlier presale for Amex cardholders about ten minutes ago and tickets are flying.  And if it was a bunch of musical lovers I'd think it's fair.  But I know the seats will just wind up on StubHub, etc for 3-5x the face value.  Again, FWP, we have way bigger issues of course, but I wish there was a better way to regulate that.

That aside, should be pretty SSDD.  Smooth enough sailing at work- our union rep actually snagged us a small win over the supervisor who rarely budges - and a busy evening for the second shift, but Wednesdays will ease up after today. (Fall softball season ends tonight.)
  • I was about to type “things are fine here” but really I’ve been struggling a bit. Work is stressful, J is sick (again) and one of our doctors missed putting in an order and we can’t get anything else done until that study is done- and the waiting list for that test is 6-9 months. They think he might have sleep apnea (which can be caused by large adenoids and tonsils that we know are big but not huge) but we can’t tell if that’s the problem or they need to be removed until we get the sleep study. He’s got fluid behind his ears (for a second time) so he’ll probably need tubes but he can’t get them until they know if he needs his tonsils and adenoids out, which we can’t know until the sleep study.

H was at camp for the last two days but came back early. He’s going again next week before he starts his new job on the 3rd. Everything is fine it just feels like it’s all just too much.

That's a lot @charlotte989875 *hugs* .  The urge to type things are fine means you're just used to it being a lot.  Which stinks.  Waiting for results is so hard, I'm sorry you're going through it.
  • *Hugs* @charlotte989875 That's a lot. Can H stay home instead of going to camp next week if you're feeling overstretched? Sending healing vibes to J.

@ei34 I honestly don't think it's that much of a FWP at all. It's another sign that we live in a deeply broken system. There should be more consumer safeguards in place to keep that from happening. Concerts are getting so expensive that I don't know how most people afford to go. I can get a ticket being $40-50 with inflation compared to my early 20s when it was $10-20. I don't understand how the same $30 ticket is now $180 with taxes and fees.

Two more days of work. Whew. This week has been super busy. It's Medical Assistant Appreciation Week. I should have just gotten pizza. I had good intentions to do little gift bags, but then started putting them together and realized I needed more...and more...and more until I was at 30 bags and I think I still missed two. I've been in every department this year and even though I'm only close to some of the MA's it's pretty shitty to give something only to half of the people in a department. It feels like wedding circle invitation stress lol. Surprise surprise though, I haven't seen admin do anything for them yet.

I made an overnight French toast bake this morning. It was pretty good. It will probably be dinner too because there's kind of a lot of it for two people. I also have to clean out the fridge today in preparation for the party. Any advise on keeping mini (could fit on the top shelf in your fridge size) kegs cold that isn't just keeping them in a fridge? Or do they stay cold for a good chunk of time once you've refrigerated them for at least 24 hours?

  • doing breakfast for dinner tonight which i'm looking forward to. HEading to my parents house with the boys tomorrow after school and should be a fund weekend. H had a bunch of meetings get moved from early this week to Friday so he's staying behind at the last minute. I'm sure he'll be so sad to have the whole house to himself all weekend, lol.

N has been having 1-2 accidents nightly for like the last month - after ~6 months of dry. Trying to limit water before bed, seems to not be constipated, not sure what else to do to help the little man.

Work is nuts and a bit stressful waiting on others to approve/confirm things that have a pretty strict deadline and major consequences if missed.
  • @Casadena could he be in a growth spurt or super tired?  Both of my kids were night wetters anyway but it seemed like on nights that CHiquito was super zonked he had some accidents.

  • @banana468 that's definitely possible! He's grown a ton recently, could be contributing for sure.
  • I'm already ready for the end of the week.

My doctor did send in more muscle relaxers for me, 30 of them. I was like. Um..I asked for 5. I guess I can hoard the others since she said she wouldn't fill it again b/c I need to treat the underlying issue.  Like, hell yes, I'd love some massage therapy, but I don't have massage money just lying around.   And yoga has never hit this specific area and, in fact, downward dog makes it worse.  I do the recommended stretches, but I'm 48 and carried stress in my neck/shoulders my whole life and after falling on that area, it's mad at me and seems to want to stay that way.  I'm just tired and pissy, I suppose.

Harley just now finally started to climb up/down her big new cat tree.  I was about to lose it last night when she just ignored it totally.  However, she has been less destructive and yowling since it came in, so I guess if it sits unused but keeps her from doing that, it's worth it.

I started watching Murders in the Building.  I'm losing Disney+ in early December (my $2.99/month special comes to an end) and so trying to get through the shows I wanted to watch.  I also watched Paradise.  It's excellent, but I can't in good conscience recommend it.  It messed me up, TBH and even more so right now after watching the East Wing of the WH come down.

    Otherwise, SSDD.
  • So sorry that wait is so long @charlotte989875 that’s not right
@ei34 yeah the ticket resale is insane
do you like murders in the building @VarunaTT? I thought it was cute, but not as funny as people made it out to be. I also stopped after season 1 too, so I need to go back to it. Welcome to Derby and Alls fair is up next.

last full day of our gate1 trip. I have a huge list of why I can’t travel with my friend alone anymore. She’s just so inconsiderate when it’s us two, and I don’t see this coming from her with our group travels. I LOVED Savanah (which S&S and I went to in 2021), and St, Augustine was cool, but a one and done - but let me tell you, maybe gate1 put us in a bad area, but I’m super underwhelmed with Charleston and it’s the most expensive city of the 3 to stay in.  They call it the historical district, but this can’t be what everyone said I’d absolutely love if I ever went here.

  • @CharmedPam Honestly, it's fine.  I love a good mystery box type show, but if I wasn't so into the actual WTF of the mystery, I'd probably stop watching it.  I'm considering googling to see what the story ended up being.  I have this issue with mystery box shows sometimes, like Severance, where I don't like the people very much so I end up not caring about their personal stories, but I like the mystery a lot.  I think the concept of them doing the podcast is interesting and I LOVE the sets.  I do like Selena Gomez's character and plotline; her speaking voice is so nasally, it's kinda irritating me.  Martin Short's character is just annoying.  Steve Martin is okay so far, but again, I don't really care about him.  I thought the pilot was so interesting, with a bit of magical realism/symbology and they just dropped that part like a hot potato.  I did like seeing Sting though, I've had a crush on that man most of my life.
