Frosty Monday

At least on my car earlier today.  How was everyone's weekend?

The weekend was super nice, one delightful event after the next.  Some various Halloween events Fri night and Saturday, and my siblings came over yesterday and a fun time was had.  There wasn't much downtime though, I could use a day (not that I took one, I'll power through).

The kids are all in their school musical, Moana.  The show is in late January but rehearsals have started.  Last year they went until 4, so they could take the late bus (4:05) home, but the director feels rehearsals need to go until 4:30 this year, so it'll be a schlep over to the middle school a couple days each week now.  Oh well.  Some mom friends and I are working on a carpool.  ExH is also being frustrating about seeing the kids.  But those grievances aside, things are okay.
  • Chiquito was in PANTS today!!

Weekend was decent.  Chiquito was away with Boy Scouts for the weekend and it's seriously bummed DH because he just doesn't feel up to it.  But he got quality time with Chiquita and me and we went out to dinner Saturday night and watched two movies Friday and Saturday that are less than appropriate for her brother: Goonies and The Wedding Singer.

Sunday I had book club and Chiquito came home.  Once again I had a lovely time of insomnia but feel fair today so hopefully early to bed solves things.
  • Baby J has the stomach flu. We cannot catch a break.
  • We had a good weekend.  Friends arrived from out of town on Friday, and we had dinner here.  Saturday, they came for Brunch, and in the afternoon, we went for a drive in Bluff Country.  It was a little rainy and drizzling, but we saw some fall color and beautiful scenery.  We went out to our favorite Mexican place for dinner.  We chatted in the evening, and they left for home early Sunday morning.

Sunday, I went to church and then picked up DH to meet other out-of-town friends for brunch. In the afternoon, I spent some time with a friend who is recovering from a partial amputation of her leg. I fell asleep before the end of the Packers' game, but I am happy they won.

It's a busy week with something every night after work.  Fortunately, we have lots of leftovers to eat from the weekend.

  • Saturday, I took the time to just relax.  I did some household chores, but I basically just let my brain shut down for a bit.  Sunday I finished up household chores, went and saw Mom, did some errands, and then watched one of the wildest Mexican GPs I've ever watched.  Norris is ahead of Piastri by one point in the championship now.  Verstappen still isn't totally out of contention either.  It's an exciting end to the driver's championship this year and should go straight through to Abu Dhabi.

Saturday night I couldn't sleep.  I think I ended up with 4 hours total sleep, but not all at once.  Then on Sunday, I tried to use Febreze on my workout clothes.  I haven't had issues with my allergies since I finished my shots.  Whatever it is in Febreze, was not covered by my shots.  I had a bad allergic reaction and ended up having to take a Benadryl and wash the clothes.  That, combined with lack of sleep the day before, meant I fell asleep right after the grand prix, woke up at 10 pm, moved to bed, and kept sleeping.  I'm still a little sluggish, but much better.  I was supposed to run/walk a mile, but my body was so tired, I decided to listen to it and take the break.  I'm not training for anything, I'm just trying to take care of myself, so I'm not going to beat myself up about skipping.  I'll get back up tomorrow and keep going.

Otherwise, SSDD in this dystopian nightmare.

Sorry about your friends leg @MNNEBride
sounds like sleep/rest is what you needed @VarunaTT
@charlotte989875 quick recovery vibes for baby J. How old is he now? Will he get to enjoy halloween? I’m thinking…. Close to 2? But time escapes me and he’s probably 12 now lol.

I did not rest. Friday after work my friends and I drove to see night of 1,000 pumpkins. It was less than stellar. I don’t have to see that again. Saturday I unpacked some more, got a mammogram in the a.m. and then got my make up done professionally for a vampire look I was going for. She did an amazing job. Even had fake lashes that I can never put on myself. Felt the best I have in a long time. I spent a LOT of money on lyft (stupid surge pricing) to go to a semi nearby town’s Halloween block party and party I did! It was a great night.
Sunday, I may have had a hangover but still went to a matinee play with a friend and dinner with her and her daughters. It was the last performance and oh so good. Dracula: a comedy of terrors.

Edit; and yes! Cold and frosty in the morning. I think it’s almost about time to start my remote start subscription on my car (I only need it for the cold months)
