Schools are closed here (Veterans Day, not the snow flurries). ExH and my FIL took the kids out earlier, which was really nice. I made a much-needed Costco run, and am deep breathing my way through the stress of their parking lot of store. Phew. Love it there but it’s crazy town.

One of the kids has a playdate soon and I think I’m going to get some cooking for tonight and tomorrow done.

Cold this morning here but no more snow. Fingers crossed that our rescheduled family pictures on saturday really get the mid 60s temps that are currently forecasted. Much better weather for my outfit choices, lol. 

Busy work week. Trying to use up all the freezer stash items this week and next as our "drink fridge/extra freezer" is definitely on the fritz and I don't want to lose food as it inevitably stops working.

Happy Tuesday and Happy Veterans Day! Glad you get some “me” time @ei34, even if that means facing the crowds at costco.
i have to do my leaves, but something tells me I wont be finishing them till my next work from home day, my battery takes 2 hours to charge for a 10 minute haul. And I only do this once a year, so it never makes sense for a backup battery. 

I’m buying all my Europe items now as it gets closer to the trip! Like an anti theft purse. How did I not have one already, with all my traveling I do? And I don’t like the fanny pack style my friends bought so I got a nice smallish crossbody.  I got a new suitcase as well, because I needed one anyway. Thermal socks, fleece lined yoga pants, more tops…. I want to pack light so I can purchase souvenirs. My toiletries alone are heavy. And it’s not like I bring a cleanser, serum, moisturizer ….
oh heck no, I need multi serums and moisturizers. I switch up my routine.

I'm working but DH works for a government contractor with a lot of veterans so he's off.  The kids have school but they devote a lot of the day to Veterans Day activities, assemblies and talks so it becomes a theme of the day.

It's COLD and my 11 yo is in pants - thank goodness!  Chiquita has a physical today and DH will take her for which I'm very grateful.

My Dad was career Navy, @ei34. I was almost 7 when he retired (late in life baby) so I always post a picture of the 2 of us together with him in his dress blues. It is better weather wise today. Not as cold but still cold. The sun did come out for a while. H and I drove to the apartment we are renting in Evanston this winter (we are considering moving here). Evanston isn't where we would move but it was the only STR we could fine where the rent was ridiculous and met our requirements (2 bedrooms, off street parking and within 30 mins of DD). I have a ZOOM meeting at 4:00 this afternoon that I have to attend because we are voting on a slate of officers for next year. DD has been catching up after being gone for an extra day than planned. At least she's home now. The boys really missed her.

Pretty casual day.  Worked my butt off again and might be back to a more manageable to-do list at work.  Have to run tonight and then go to a friend's house to pick up all my Amazon packages.  The drivers have gotten bad about calling me to meet them downstairs (they never come to my door now) and with the world like it is, I don't want it to be stolen.  So, I've been shipping to a friend's place when I have a lot of stuff.  Otherwise, SSDD.  Finally had to turn the heat on for a bit in the apartment, to take the chill off.

M and us home today- J had school then a doctors appointment. It was snowy here too and the kids were SO JAZZED. Baby J was mesmerized.

im glad I had the day off- work has been really rough and it’s a good reminder I need to take more random days off.

Happy Veterans Day!  But do I have the day off from work?  Of course not, lol.  Neither my H nor my dad were career military, but they both served

Normally my dad wouldn't have joined the Marines.  But they were drafting for Vietnam and the men who voluntarily joined, got better choices.  Fortunately, my H served in peace times.

My H told me this morning that it was Veterans Day and I needed to kiss my favorite vet, lol.  I gave him a big smooch as I walked out the door for work!  

Everything seemed to go well with our new tenant on Friday.  We didn't require her to but, in addition to first and last month's rent (we already had the security deposit), she also paid December's rent to get ahead for Christmas.  Fine with me!  That was a nice chunk to pay down some of my real estate debt.
