Weekend was smooth here, a nice mix of fun things but downtime too.  The kids and their cousins enjoyed The Grinch as their cold outdoor movie night, and my parents are thankfully on the mend.  I roasted a whole chicken yesterday and it was a big boy (around 6.5lbs)- we had it Thanksgiving-style yesterday with the traditional sides, but I'll definitely get another two dinners out of it which is awesome.  Planning on chicken tacos one night and a pot pie (with the leftover gravy and pan veggies) another.  Pretty SSDD otherwise.
  • Sounds delish @ei34
I was under the weather most of the weekend. I tried going to a craft show yesterday but that was it.
today, 4 minutes in my way to work, I got a flat tire. It’s been a loooooooonv time since that happened. I’ve been waiting over 2 hours to have someone replace my spare :( ugh! I’ll take a redo thankyouverymuch

  • Didn't do too much this weekend.  Had my hair cut on Saturday and it looks good.  I also did a deep moisturizing mask there and it definitely helped things.  My hair actually looks shiny and the color popped again.  Sunday I worked on my Lego stuff, saw Frankenstein (I thought it was meh) and visited Mom.  Just puttered around on household stuffs after that.

Going to see the new Running Man tonight, which I'm excited for.  Otherwise, SSDD.
  • It was a pretty good weekend here.  Friday, DH had a visit with his primary and has a medication adjustment for his mood.  Fingers crossed.  After work, we went and picked up his new glasses.  We need to go back tonight because they are rubbing on his ears.

Saturday, I slept in and had a very low-key morning in my pajamas.  By noon, I was dressed and out in the garage organizing all the things for the craft show next weekend.  I wanted to make sure everything would fit in the car for one trip.  It does, and so I left it in there; it will be ready for setup on Friday.  I had smothered pork chops in the crockpot for supper.

On Sunday, we attended recliner church, and then I went out to run errands.  One thing I needed was zip ties to anchor the Christmas decorations on the deck.  I'm looking for them at Walmart, and I find they are behind glass and under lock & key.  So strange.  Good thing I didn't have a tarp, rope, duct tape or bleach in my cart.  I'm probably on a watch list now lol.  I taught middle school confirmation last night, and now I'm on to the workweek.

A big realignment is happening at work.  We know we'll be impacted, but don't know how yet.  Of course, there are rumors, musings, and anxiety.  We have a meeting with leadership on 12/4, and regardless of the outcome, at least we'll know. I haven't shared much with DH because I don't want him to worry until I know some information.

  • Weekend was fine. H went to camp so the boys and I checked out the play museum here, get out some new toys, and had a quiet weekend together. J had a rough night of sleep last night so I’m trying to make it through the day. I need to work out but also all I want to do is nap!
  • Weekend for our family was busy.  Saturday Chiquita helped out all day at the HS with auditions for a local regional HS music festival.  She auditioned herself and also got service hours for the honor society she's in and was BEAT tired.  It was the night of the homecoming dance and when I got home from subbing for the Saturday vigil masses she was in sock monkey jammies with NO inclination to dance.   It's definitely flu season here so I appreciated her better judgement.  We watched a movie as a family on the couch.

Sunday we relaxed after church and I made split pea soup after I poured my Dunkin coffee all over the dining room table.  What a delicious loss and I can't blame the kids!

This week it's looking busy and I have to fly for work so that's going to add to the stress.
  • Saturday we had dinner with some neighbors. The husband has alzheimers and leukemia (he is on a lifelong maintenance chemo for it). They are a bit older than us but we get along great. I know the wife is struggling because their daughter wants them to move to the town where she lives - they have a house there, but the wife really doesn't want to. She does however, need support. She has been trying to clear out their house of unnecessary stuff and is having difficulty getting it all done.

Sunday we went to church then went to a local hardware store to get a few more Christmas things to finish up my new outside stuff. I really like the way it all works. I've gone to nostalgic red, gold and silver balls  as opposed to natural things like pine cones and berries. I like the whimsy of it.

Monday was working out and an eye doctor appointment. I'm getting new regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. Whoa nelly that was expensive! I normally don't get them both in the same year but alternate. My prescription changed enough that I think it was necessary.

Glad your parents are on the mend @ei34. Boo for the flat tire @CharmedPam - I think you deserve a do over.
