I'm on the verge of a cold and just didn't sleep well because of it.  Definitely dragging today.

Work got off to a wild start but things have calmed down.  Not looking forward to two meetings later today (a dept meeting right after work, from 3-4, and then a PTA meeting at the kids' school at 7) but I'll blink and the day will be over.
  • Still sounds like a looooooong day @ei34, wishing you luck and multiple cups of coffee :)
    mmmm coffee

i’m excited that my favorite foundation went on sale. And apparently they usually don’t. 20% off wtf at jones road beauty. The only foundation that doesn’t sit in my pores and crevasses. I just bought 2 pots last month but I go through it pretty quickly. The miracle balm is a great replacement for a blush too. I like the concealer stick, but actually forget to use it. The other make up is just meh. Good, not mind blowing.
I’m at the tire place. I have a huge gash in my tire and it needs replacing. She said they do them in sets of 2 or 4 though. Was she lying to me? It made sense how she described it when she explained why.  Because of tire size I wont be driving even on them and alignment would be off. I mean… sounds legit? But not what I needed before a big vaca.

  • That sounds reasonable @CharmedPam - sorry about the extra expense right before vacation. Healing vibes to you @ei34 . I went and listened to my cousin's presentation at one of the schools he visits. He does such a great job. He is a natural talker. I hope the kids order lots of his books. It was a bit of a drive for me but probably the closest one to us.

The weather is dreary - cold and rainy. I have absolutely no get up and go to get anything done. I've been doing loads of laundry between going to the school and getting some online Christmas shopping done. My book club is Thursday night so I have to figure out what to fix -salad or dessert. I'm bored of it all. I didn't read the book because it didn't sound interesting to me and I quite frankly haven't had the time. Well that's not true since I've been watching Poldark every evening. However, if I read at night, I usually fall asleep pretty quickly.
  • A high-priority, mandatory meeting has been added to my team's calendar.  Leadership will be present, as well as someone from HR.  EEK

  • @CharmedPam, I'm guessing that would sometimes be the case for tires, but not always.  FWIW, I've never had a tire place tell me that when I had a tire that needed to be replaced from a tear/something like that.  Congrats on the good foundation deal.

@ei34, I hope your cold is fleeting and doesn't set in.

@MNNEBride, Crossing my fingers for you that the meeting goes well and is more good news than bad.  Maybe? Hopefully?  Though I realize when HR shows up, it's not usually a positive sign.

yes tires are usually replaced in twos or fours.  They do that because of how they wear on a car.  Consider it like if you were a runner and you needed to replace your right shoe because it had a hole in the sole but you also had a non-holey worn left shoe.

You could put on a new right shoe and old left shoe and...that's going to throw you off over time.  It'll do the same in your car.

It was a major annoyance for DH as well if a tire had to be replaced and I think it's for four tires at once if you drive a car that's always in 4WD.

@MNNEBride good luck.  I just read a book with the quote Eleanor Roosevelt said, "A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water."  You've been in a lot of hot water and are super strong!!
