Fri-yay

We made it! Wishing everyone a restful weekend!

Re: Fri-yay

  • I am holding onto only 3 days of work next week and then a nice long break.  I also glitched last night b/c I realized there's only 6 weeks left of the longest year of my life; it's felt like a decade and now it's almost over?  How?

Getting my brows done, maybe go for a pedicure. movie date Sunday, and visiting Mom.  Also have a few projects to get finished in the apartment.  I think I've finally figured out this computer switch and need to get a few more cords and I want to get the rug out of my apartment.  It just doesn't fit in here.  Oh and my new comforter is in, so I'll hopefully have that and like it too.

I must have needed the rest, because I woke up an hour later than I usually do.  I don't use an alarm clock but thankfully DS (my early bird kid) came in to wake me up.  The sacrifices were my workout, a hair wash, and unloading the dishwasher.  Oh well.

Later today we have our flu shots and I'll get some cleaning in.  Tomorrow will be setting up the Christmas tree (I have an artificial one).  It used to take exH like 20 minutes but for some reason it takes me almost two hours, so these last couple years I've been doing it the weekend before Thanksgiving, not decorating it yet, just putting it up in its spot so that next Friday we can jump right into Christmas-ifying the home.  Sat evening is a swim meet and on Sunday we are seeing Wicked (10:15 showtime, we'll go straight from 9am mass).
  • I am in awe that you don't use an alarm clock @ei34. I am way too paranoid to do that. Do I wake up at the same time every day regardless of whether I can sleep in or not? Yes. But the very rare occasions I've fallen asleep without my alarm have of course been the times I overslept like a log.

Not too many plans this weekend. I need to work on my resume and will probably put in a few hours of remote work. I'm looking forward to not really going anywhere far. Otherwise, SSDD.

I had a look of horror (for myself) when I read that, lol.

I'd regularly be hours late to work if I didn't have an alarm set!  The #1 thing I am looking forward to in retirement is going to bed when I want and sleeping in as late as I want.

  • I long for the days I can wake up whenever I want because my kids actually sleep past 5am! Baby J is looking better but still kept him home. He’s currently snuggling with H while I get some work done!

No big plans this weekend; trying to get some rest.
  • I have to set my alarm as a safeguard, but most days I’m up before it. Often times I’m up too early, playing on my phone and then go back to bed for about an hour or so and STILL get up before I have to. I also work on little to no sleep.

christmas tree? I’m debating. I don’t get back till the 1st. It’s pretty and gets me in the mood but I have a smalllllll house that’s cluttered enough. And no one is coming over in December (that I know of). So, seems like a lot of work. I have a lot of Christmassy things to attend to in December that will get me in the mood.  Sometimes being single is so lonely and boring. And sometimes I LOVE it.

Good news, I spent the morning back at the tire place. A lot of people said because I had AWD i would want all four changed at the same time, and they can wear the same and align the same. They were actually able to charge me what it would have been had I got them at the same time, so I wasn’t charged the extra labor and disposal. I have a 3 year warranty on them and 1 year on the alignment. Plus, peace of mind that I did the right thing.

Sooooo how am I going to afford to eat on this upcoming trip? 😬 i was NOT planning that expense.
