Woo!  We leave for MS today when I get off work!

This will be an unusual vacation for us.  We usually go somewhere with a lot going on.   But this time, the attraction is the house itself and relaxation.  We'll be spending most of our time there.  It's out in the country with a deck on a lake that has a covered patio.  Jacuzzi in the main patio next to the house.  Since we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving there and eating most of our meals there, it feels like we packed half our pantry and some of our fridge!

There's also a large national park nearby that we will do some light hiking in.

There is a cool sounding and highly recommended restaurant in town.  It's prix fixe.  Different parties are seated together at large tables and the food is served family style.  Platters of three entrees and beau coup sides.  The menu is what you'd expected from rural MS (in a good way).  Homecooked southern classic, comfort foods.  I'm really looking forward to it!  We plan to go there for lunch tomorrow and will probably go a second time, assuming we like it.

  • That sounds incredible @short+sassy!! Hope the travel is smooth!

I’m off again today, getting my hair done and picking up my bib for our turkey trot on Thursday! I love days off, I need to remember to use more PTO.
  • I'm sorry @MNNEBride.  It's frustrating to drop something like that in the laps of employees and still hammer home on "DELIVERABLES!"   Yeah - people who are ready to move somewhere else aren't going to jump into increasing output during the holiday season when they're needing to find 2026 employment.

    Good luck.

I am feeling tired today. I've been having super wonky dreams. Then I got to work and my coworker was in half day only and in the morning we were slammed and I was by myself. At least it wasn't for the entire day. But I managed to get my resume done over the weekend and I called a lead for a per diem job so that's something.

Otherwise, looking forward to the short week.

I hope everyone is staying healthy this week!
