Phew, we made it.  Wishing everyone an enjoyable weekend!

It's a Festive Friday here so I'm rocking one of my Christmas-y sweaters.  My mind is more on a formal observation I have later today though.  Shout out to my dept chair for choosing 8th period on a Friday.

This evening the kids are going to make their own mini pizzas using the Christmas Cookie cutters.  For our movie night we're between Home Alone and Elf (my vote is for Home Alone).  Tomorrow is my sister's 40th birthday brunch, with downtime before and after it.  Our town tree lighting is tomorrow evening but I'll probably skip it unless one of the kids specifically asks to go.  It's only from 5:30-6 and a quick 5min walk from us, so not a high effort thing.  Sunday after mass my siblings and nieces/nephews are coming over for the annual Christmas Cookie decorating party I host.  The younger kids are starting to really get into it and it's very sweet to watch my kids and older nieces help them out.  It should wrap by 1 or so though, so then it'll be another quiet evening, my fave.

Parent- teacher conference this morning and M is doing great in kindergarten! His teacher said he was enthusiastic and he loved having him in class! He’s doing great academically but hearing that your kid is nice, has friend, and is excited to be there is even better. But hearing also has a half day so he’ll be home in like an hour 😂.

Finally getting our Christmas tree this weekend- it’s the latest we’ve ever put it up. And I need to finish shopping ASAP!

Nothing going on here. Probably a movie tonight & Sunday. Tomorrow night I have a Christmas themed haunted house which I love. I had 7 people sign up for it and only 3 are going. So far. I’ve reached out to both and they say they’re going but it’s also a meetup, and people are not reliable with that. Speaking of, I also hosted trivia last night and pick me up off the floor all 7 who rsvp’d yes went. At one point I had 12 say yes but I stopped reserving tables and just go early now so I’m not holding a table for 12 when 3 show up (it’s happened before).

Yay for Friday!  DH, my Mom & I are going to a Christmas show tonight.  It starts kind of late for DH (8 pm), so I hope he lasts through it.  

We're expecting below-zero temperatures all weekend, so I've planned to hibernate tomorrow and get the house decorated.  It's overdue.  On Sunday, I'll be the worship leader and hope to spend the rest of the day finishing up the decorating and making some holiday treats.  Laundry will be sprinkled in throughout.  

I have my first 1:1 with the new boss on Tuesday.  Fingers crossed it goes well.  We are already finding things that we're handed off from the old boss, and know there will be more projects like that.  We found out yesterday that we are losing 4 co-workers who weren't offered positions in the new structure.  Morale has tanked, and it will take considerable time to recover.

It's PJ day here for the kids.  I donated to a local children's hospital (not the one that treats Chiquita) and the kiddos are in PJ bottoms and sweatshirts for the day.

It's a busy weekend.  Saturday Chiquita has a fencing meet, a vocal audition and later that day she's marching in the town light parade.  Sunday I have a book club lunch and need to put a gift basket together so....I'm running behind!
She also has a big test today in her math class and I'm SO nervous.  She's not doing well in the class at all and needs a good grade to move up the average from the D she has.  Vibes are appreciated.

Just got word that there was a shooting at a school just outside of my city.  Prayers for all involved.  What a world we live in.

Im just glad this week is almost over. It puts me closer to those sweet 5 days off for Christmas. No big plans. Im seeing the new Benoit Blanc movie on Sunday and visiting Mom. Otherwise just puttering around my place, doing chores and prepping for next week.

Not much information yet, but a student was shot by an adult and is in critical, but stable condition.  The adult committed suicide.  This happened about 5 am as the wrestling team was boarding a bus to go to a tournament.
