“What day is it?”…. Monday?

Had a lovely rest of the holiday weekend. Everyone else have a good weekend? I got to see my boys 3 of the 5 days, hung out with my parents and my friend even drive up to see us. My parents and her get along great. We spent the day in Paducah and stopped off at a casino for about an hour and she said “they’d be so much fun on a cruise”. I know. That’s why it’s not embarrassing to say I cruise with my parents!! I get it. They’re more fun than I am.
Edit; I got cash for my “ring” doorbell return and I had no idea I was in the market for a new bra until Kim K told me the rhinestone strap one @ skims was 40% off. Ok. You’re right. I do, Kim. That’s a bra strap I want peeping out. Lol
I still have to work today, tomorrow and Friday. Who else is working? I can’t believe 3 more days and 2025 is gone.

  • Booo on having to work @CharmedPam although yay for the nephew time and the fun parent time.

Weekend was nice with the exception of some tomfoolery from exH. Just a blip though, all is well. Slowly bringing Christmas stuff back up to the attic (not even decor, just the plates, dish towels, cookie tins etc). All in avoidance of what I should actually work on, finding places for the kids’ gifts.

Did a Trader Joe’s run earlier and the kids and I are about to meet some friends at the pool.
  • The holidays were nice at our house.  We hosted my family on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Day, I went with my family to my aunt and uncle's house, along with my Mom's siblings and my cousins.  The weather both days was foggy but warm, and the roads were clear.

Mom & I went shopping for a few hours on Friday.  We didn't find any great deals, but I bought a gnome at Kohl's that's pretty cute and was 1/2 off.  The weather was great again, near 40 degrees, but we were preparing for a big storm over the weekend.

Saturday, I crashed.  I took a couple of naps and watched TV.  About noon, I went out and took down some outdoor Christmas decor in prep for the storm.  It was misty and foggy most of the day, and then it turned to rain in the evening.

Rain continued into Sunday morning, and temperatures dropped dramatically.  Everything froze, and then we got snow on top of that.  We were in a blizzard warning most of the day yesterday.  We hibernated and watched a lot of TV.  I put some cube steaks in the crockpot and that was nice to have for dinner.

I didn't sleep last night and so I'm dragging today.  We were plowed out this morning and I did the deck over lunch.  I'll need to put some salt down on the sidewalk and driveway to try and cut the ice.  I'm WFH today so I don't need to go anywhere.  We have appointments tomorrow and Wednesday and hopefully roads will be better then.

  • Holidays were nice. All my kids were home. DD and family arrived Monday and we went to the symphony Christmas show on Tuesday. As expected the little boys had a great time. DS1 &2 arrived home on Tuesday while we were at the show. DD took charge of dinner Tuesday and DS1 took charge of dinner on Wednesday. We went to a early church service that was geared towards children so dinner was after church. Christmas day was nice. It is so fun to have little people that are excited about Santa. This will probably be the last time for few years that all my kids are together at Christmas. DD has to rotate holidays every 3 years and DS1 and DIL rotate every other year. Friday we all went to our favorite Italian restaurant. The kids did great (the always do when we take them out to dinner). DD and DS1 left on Saturday. DS2 left Sunday. We watched the new Knives Out movie Saturday evening

The weather was warm but rainy the whole holiday so the boys were cooped up inside all the time. That is not a good combo for 3 energetic boys. We did have a couple of meltdowns.

I have started the process of putting away Christmas stuff - it will take me several days. The tree and nativities will be up until Epiphany. I have to get it all done before we head to Chicago for 5 weeks. I certainly don't want to come home in February with Christmas needing to be put away! I also had a dentist appointment today. Oh and did I mention it was -1 with wind chill today, yesterday in was 65! Climate change is real!
  • We had a great Christmas and Baby J birthday. M had the stomach flu Friday but was totally fine by Saturday and so far no one else has gotten it. We’re having crazy winter storm weather today, 70mph wind gusts and lake effect snow. We haven’t lost power so we’re chilling and watching movies waiting for it to pass!
  • Happy belated baby J!! @charlotte989875
