My coworkers were talking about the Grammys this morning.  I didn't even realize they were on last night.  I am the worst with pop culture stuff.  I do have to learn a Bad Bunny song or two before this weekend- I've heard of him but don't know any of his music, and I need to be prepared to appreciate and cheer on anyone that maga hates.

Moana was awesome.  The kids had a great time, poured their little hearts into it, and now we are all glad that it's over and welcome the bonus free time.

We also celebrated little Liam's return home but any relief naturally turns to concern as far as what comes next.  I'm ready for ICE to melt themselves into hell where they belong.
  • I hope everyone's weekend was good.

Went to Urgent Care on Friday after work and was diagnosed with contact dermatitis.  I have no idea what I reacted to, but it's cleared up with hydrocortisone cream and Benadryl.

We had a chill weekend.  Saturday, we took DH's sister, niece, and grandniece up to visit his other sister at her care facility.  The roads were good, and it wasn't frigid, so that was a win.

On Sunday, we did recliner church, and I tackled our laundry mountain.  My mom & brother stopped by to drop off Mom's Christmas totes and pick up some other things we store in our garage.

Back to work today.  It's definitely a full-moon Monday.  I was almost hit by a snowplow that did a three-point turn in the middle of an intersection.  The McDonald's drive-thru was closed, so I couldn't get coffee, and then the bus from the shuttle lot at work left as I was approaching the door.  First-world problems, but annoying.

Because I'm taking a GLP-1, I need to be on clear liquids only from today at 8 am until 4 hours prior to my eye surgery.  I was really looking forward to my last meal of sugar-free iced coffee and a bacon & egg bagel this morning.  I settled for a Starbucks Frappuccino, a Greek yogurt, and a granola bar from the vending area at work. It's jello, bone broth & tea for the next 24-36 hours.

  • I’m sorry to hear @MNNEBride. Is that an allergic reaction to something? I swear that name sounds familiar and I may have gotten that before.
@ei34 high five for a successful broadway run lol!

Weekend was good. On Saturday we played Puttshack. A lot of fun but soooooo busy on Saturday that it runs almost 2 hours behind. I like the calm weekday atmosphere of it. Also they don't do separate checks, so since I organized it, I offered to put it all on the cc since I didn’t tell everyone to bring cash. I wasn't thinking. Everyone zelled me or gave me cash but I didnt tally it up until the next day and I was shorted around $20-22.  I should know by experience that the card holder always looses out. I’m part of a meetup where they say “bring cash and add 30%. 10% for tax and 20% for tip” so I’m going to be more organized and do that next time.
I know Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter, but around these parts here, we follow Woodstock Willie. He said an early Spring. I swear this has been the outcome many years past. My friend lives in PA and we always go back and forth jokingly on who’s official. She called Willie a people pleaser. Lol. Hey, whatever works, I’ll be dancing in my flowers before her.

  • Yep - I reacted to something, but not sure what, which stinks because I can't avoid something if I don't know what it is.

  • @MNNEBride do you use gel, no chip, dip nails? That was were mine stemmed from.

    AI answer:
A polyacrylate (acrylate) allergy is an immune reaction, typically allergic contact dermatitis, causing symptoms like itchy, burning, swollen, or blistering skin. It is commonly triggered by uncured acrylate monomers found in gel/acrylic nails, dental materials, and adhesives. Symptoms often appear on the fingertips or face (eyelids), and it is a lifelong allergy requiring strict avoidance of the allergen.
    Key Aspects of Polyacrylate Allergy:
    • Common Sources: The most common source is artificial nails (gel, acrylic, dip, press-on). Other sources include dental prosthetics/fillings, medical adhesives/surgical glues, eyelash glue, and some floor coatings.
    • Symptoms:
      • Skin: Itching, redness, scaling, burning, blisters, and swelling, often on hands, fingers, or face.
      • Nails: Nail lifting (onycholysis), nail bed inflammation, or thickening.
      • Respiratory: While usually skin-related, powder particles can sometimes cause breathing issues

  • @CharmedPam, I remember you reacted to a nail product.  I get gel nails and have had acrylics for over 30 years.  No new products there.  And my last fill was over 2 weeks ago. This was on my chin, chin line and down my neck.

I can't think of anything different I wore, ate or used.

  • I just keep feeling the dog in the flames saying “everything is fine” because it is but work is such a dumpster fire I don’t even know what is up anymore.

Weekend was excellent, it’s still cold but the boys loved being out in the snow, M had a great hockey practice, and we just had a lot of fun together time.

He’s not- since he was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea we don’t expect significant improvement until we figure out what is causing the obstruction. Hopefully we’ll get more answers on Thursday when he goes in for the procedure to determine the cause!
