Wedding Woes

Happy advice column Thursday

How is everyone today?
Ravina Summer fest was announced in our area and Brandi Carlile is playing ON MY BIRTHDAY! I love her. But ugh, it’s on a Wednesday and even lawn tickets are $185-222 each. Plus the place is a PITA to get in and out of. I’ll never get a group going for that day and that price. Also my trip to Romania is the day after. All of this makes me not want to go. Probably easier to follow her in concert an see where she’s playing.
I also got my first microdermabrasion facial and chemical peel and omg I LOVE the after effect today. The price is great but she only works out of the location closest to me on Wednesday’s. Still works for me for 5:30 appts though. Until I move offices :(

  • @CharmedPam - ticket prices are super inflated right now because they're not actually on sale yet! Should be more affordable when ravinia releases them 4/23. We saw her 2 years ago there and it was incredible. Looking at Miranda Lambert, Alabama Shakes, and a couple others as well!

Canceled my haircut yesterday after work got busy and trying to get in later this afternoon. Going to yoga at lunch even though i'd rather go to Chipotle. I'll be happy I did it afterward.

Oooh I didn’t know that @Casadena. Thanks! I did google that lawn tickets do average $38. Maaaaaybe I can get a few going with the guilt trip of “it’s my birthday” and I’m gone (hopefully) 12 days after it. I would love to see Miranda again. And Martina McBride! Let me know if Martina interests you? I’m gone for Miranda (again, war depending ugh!)
I NEED to start working out again. Pants are getting tight and I’m sure it’s peri. At least that’s what the googs tell me.

  • Not much going on here. A couple of friends and I went to this golden girls pop up restaurant last night. It was really cute, but it was on the other side of town and slooooow, so I didn't get home until after 10 and am dragging.

Work continues to be a general pain for all sorts of reasons. I really need to get my ish together and start thinking about my next steps, but looking for a job sucks. So instead I'm planning all my trips.

I saw Brandi with P!nk a few years ago, she was awesome live- hope tickets go down soon!

Had my son’s annual CSE meeting this morning so I got to work a few periods late. I haven’t been sleeping well (I fall asleep without issue but I’ve been waking up at 3-something for the day and it’s really catching up to me.
  • Checking in after a long, tough week. J had to go to the ER Tuesday and thankfully we didn’t have to be admitted but we were there late and it was hard. He’s going to be fine but we have follow ups and referrals to things we didn’t know were going on, so it all feels like a lot.

Work continues to be a dumpster fire but I took Wednesday off to sleep after the night in the ER. Here’s hoping we all get some good rest soon.
  • *hugs* @charlotte989875 that’s a lot. Sending healing vibes your way.

I’m adjusting to a five day work week. After finishing today my mind is checked out. I already worked a full week, right? Tomorrow should hopefully be lighter.

Otherwise. SSDD. We went to Costco in the less than nice area near our house. On the way out the door our paper towels fell out of our cart and in the 30 seconds before we noticed someone stole them and drove away. Costco was great and gave us more without charge though, which was really nice.

Jeez, healthy vibes J's way @charlotte989875, that's really scary.  I hope that you can get some answers at follow up appointments.
Wishing you a restful weekend @levioosa, the first week at a new job is always a lot.
