It'll definitely feel lighter for me- this is the first time in three weeks the kids don't have Saturday and Sunday swim meets, woohoo.
This afternoon some friends and I are taking advantage of a new spa that opened nearby - they were offering an intro package for $100- 30min hot stone massage, 30min tea tree facial, and 60min scalp massage/treatment.  We're going at 4 so it won't even be a late night which I love.

Tomorrow will be a mix of cleaning and errands earlier in the day, with a birthday dinner for my youngest sister and brother (they're twins) at Benihana...hibachi is always a lot of fun.  The kids are altar serving at the 9am mass on Sunday, we might try to get to the beach (love the ocean but off-season much more so than summer), and I'm cooking our St. Patrick's Day dinner as well, since Tuesday is my busiest day of the week and I'd never have time to make the corned beef, etc. on the actual holiday.  Not sure when but we'll also watch Zootopia 2 which just came out on Disney+ as our family movie this weekend, we'd wanted to see it in theaters but couldn't find the time.
  • Holy Cow, it's windy here - gusts up to 65 mph.  It's supposed to last a few more hours and then calm down.  I dodge a couple of garbage totes on the way to work.  The prediction for the weekend is 12-14" of snow with 30 mph winds.  We plan to hibernate, but hope the plow guys come early enough so I can get into work on Monday morning.  My co-trainer is on deck to cover if I can't.

Last night I picked up my new anniversary ring from the jeweler.  It's a beaut, Clark!  So sparkly.  She's a three-stone 1.3 ct yellow gold.  DH has wanted to upgrade my ring for our 20th anniversary in September, so we were looking.  Came across this one and both loved it, plus it was on a great sale.

I'll stop at the grocery store on the way home from work tonight, as they have some Friday the 13th specials.  I'm sure it will be packed with the storm on the way.  Plans for the weekend are to catch up.  Laundry, refilling critter food containers, mixing new cat food and such.  Will likely also do some cooking.  I'm sure it will be recliner church for us on Sunday.

FWP - McDonald's took their large iced coffee deal off their app.  It's been $.99 for a long time, but they switched up the in-app deals, and it's off now.  I have several Starbucks gift cards, so I should start going there, but I'm never sure what to order.  McD's sugar-free vanilla doesn't taste weird to me and doesn't bother my stomach.  I like iced coffee regardless of the temps outside.

  • Oh I completely agree on McDonald’s coffee @MNNEBride. How did they perfect that?
Crazy winds here too. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen winds like this.
that’s such a great price @ei34. I love a scalp massage but why is that the longest thing? Lol

I’m supposed to see “on your feet” (again) tonight. I saw the first half a few weeks ago and left at intermission. The reviews are great for it, so I want to give it a 2nd chance. I will admit my headspace wasn’t all there (had a slight cancer scare and I couldn’t see my gyn for over a month about it and all through that production I was thinking about having to find someone new and get in sooner). Maybe I was irritated/annoyed that night.
however, my tailbone is bruised. Last night (or early this morning) I woke up at 2, hungry. I went to grab a cookie off the counter but suddenly the feeling of the world closing up on me happened. I clutched the counter in hopes it would go away. Next thing I knew I woke up on my kitchen floor, wondering where I was and why it was so bright. I had blacked out. My head hit the floor, my butt hit the floor and my elbow hurts. I wasn’t hungry any more. I read that it’s probably hypoglycemia. I probably shouldn’t have (for concussion reasons), but I went back to bed. I did have 2 drinks at dinner (7ish) and then took my Mounjaro at 11:30 but was completely sober when I took it. I have had this happen to me pre mounjaro too, back in 2021. Anyway it hurts to sit but I’m going to try it! I have a gel cushion I’m thinking of bringing but it ads height and I’m already annoying people behind me, being 6’0 to start with.

  • @charlotte989875 please check in when you can!  I hope your little guy is improving.  When our kids aren't well it's an awful feeling as a mother.  I hope you're hanging in there.

It's musical weekend for Chiquita.  We saw the understudy performance last night which was amazing with her as Tin Man.  It ended and DH said, "I don't like how emotions make me feel," which was his way of basically trying to not be the dad who showed the tears in his eyes.  It's a rough week scholastically and she had to back out of an algebra test as she felt a panic attack coming on but she's hanging in there.

Long time, no see!  I hope everyone is doing well.

@CharmedPam, that's really scary!  The only thing I can suggest is to be aware of the symptoms for hypoglycemia and check your blood sugars with a glucometer if you are having any.  But I know it's harder to detect when half awake and in the middle of the night.

Still no job, but I haven't been looking nearly as much as I should.  My exciting news is I got approved for Medicare.  Yay!  Though it was a grueling 2-month process that required a ton of paperwork.  They also kept changing their mind on what they wanted.  I got four letters at different times asking for different things.  My H got denied for no reason and we are currently in the appeals process.

Medicare is amazing!  It's night and day compared to the especially shitty high deductible plan my previous employer had.  Almost everything is free...no copays, no deductibles...just a tiny amount for my prescriptions.  This is why we should have universal healthcare.  EVERYONE should have this kind of care.

I definitely neglected some of my healthcare needs because my employer's health plan was so bad.  I'm trying to make up for lost time and get EVERYTHING done.  Lipomas removed, hyperparathyroid surgery, ADHD assessment, HRT assessment, bone density scan, colon cancer screening.  It's so much, but so freeing!  Most of this has been hanging over me for the last 2+ years and I'm excited to make progress.

Now that it's spring, I'm talking to my realtor today about putting my personal home on the market and which rental properties it makes sense to keep or sell.  My H and I have already been packing our stuff up.  Not nearly as quickly as we should be because we are both major procrastinators, but a good bit of progress has been made.

Good to "see" you @short+sassy! Yay for good healthcare!  (Though- has the age for medicare lowered?  I like my health insurance but also like to know what else is out there and available to me.)  And good luck with the job/home selling pieces- periods of transition can be really difficult.
