We were at IL's for the day and it was nice. They always go a little too candy heavy imo (10 people don't need 8 large bowls of candy on the appetizer table). SIL/BIL are very different in how they parent than we are so that was a tad uncomfortable at times. Overall was a nice day.

Contractors at our house all week doing insulation/drywall and installing a radon pump system. Very excited to have things fixed and be able to put things back. EVery room in our house is messy at the moment bc we had to move everything off our main floor and it's very stressful.

@ILoveBeachMusic I'm so glad you found a church you like! Would you mind sharing which one (PM is fine if you don't want it public). We grew up Catholic but are looking to church shop a bit and I'm very unsure where to start. The one you described sounds exactly like what we'd be looking for.

Hey! Speak for yourself! Lol. Actually I have to be better about my sugars/carbs. It’s slowly creeping up despite my meds. I was getting too cocky slipping treats in and I know it. And yes, a house where everything isn’t in place is stressful!

Yesterday was a sh*t show at work. More people leaving and we hear by summer it’ll be worse. The unknown is scary for me. Am I safe? Not safe? We got the PTO schedule with the new company and because I’m non exempt, I lose 6 vacation days!!! But they give me 5 sick (we don’t have sick days), which I’ll use to tack on long weekends so I don’t lose out on what I’m used to. And trust me, I was already using up all my PTO as it was.
Speaking of that, my brother gave us a “heads up” text that he was thinking labor day weekend for his wedding (5 months out IS planning for him). I texted back I was out of the country (and I can’t get my $ back) and he’s going to try to find another date. However, that weekend works out best for her side and I think he’s concentrating more on that. I’m busy most weekends till November, so any other day he picks will 90% interfere with something, but at least it’ll be a domestic trip upset and not international. I love the people that give you a 12 month STD.

  • Easter was great, the boys were super into finding eggs, and their baskets, and did a really great job of mashing through two different family meals!

Yesterday M and I went to an indoor waterpark with SIL and her boys- they all had the best time! M was so proud of himself for trying one of the big slides and going to the deep end in the wave pool (with his life jacket on). We had a great (exhausting!) day!

I agree @CharmedPam, the more notice for a wedding, the better.  And I'm sorry about the overhead changes at work, that sounds really stressful.
Big boy vibes for M - indoor water parks are a lot of fun (especially when it's so cold outside) @charlotte989875
Good luck with all of the construction this week @Casadena.  And good luck with your church search.  I was raised by very Catholic but also very liberal parents, it's nice these days to have a church that doesn't remind you that you're straddling two worlds.  (Every time Pope Leo speaks out again Trump/Vance/Hegseth/etc my heart flutters.)

I can't believe how cold it is.  We're going to a Mets game later and the start time was moved from 7:10 to 4:10 bc the real feel will be in the 20s.  I know I'll blink and it'll be 75.  I live for moderate temps in the 50s-60s and would love that right now.

Yesterday felt really long. I went to Costco and man, I don’t even know if I’ve been there during Christmas and seen it that busy. A lot of stuff was empty. Very unusual for our part of the country.

    otherwise SSDD.

Costco by me takes years off my life @levioosa.  Shoulder to shoulder, any time of day / of year.  I love their prices and of course, policies.  But they don't make it easy!
